    Good point.

Still, I think I'm going to try to find a place to snag some decent oak fire wood. Never really had a need for it before, but I'm sure there's places to get it.

Blacked out emblems, Weathertech liners, LED interior, tag, and 3rd brake light, reverse light mod, rear TSB, rear diff. breather, added black factory running boards, OR tow hook, and rhino lined UWS low profile box.
Craigslist usually has some decent (sometimes free) deals on firewood.

Still too soon to tell if I can make it, but I'm gonna try. Had a blast last year and I just came for the day on Saturday.

For anyone who hasn't been, like everyone here has said, no need to worry. My truck is stock with running boards and I did just fine. I didn't go after some of the more challenging obstacles, but still had a good time cruising the trails most of which can be done in 2wd very easily.

Actually, I forgot to list that I have those. 4 ponchos left over from our Smokey Mountain trip, one lamp is solar powered & the other is gas. Except for the camp axe which I'll buy. Speaking of impressing. I had to look up Swedish Firesteel. I also saw magnesium, which I knew about. I'm impressed with your knowledge.

I'm on my I-phone so I don't know how to post a pic on it but I attached a link to the firewood that I plan to buy. 45lb box along with my axe & I think I should be fine.

Exactly. If this were just me going That's one thing but with the family I want them to be happy. Truth is that they are doing this to please me (though my wife has, on more than one occasion, mentioned to me that she is excited about it).

You are not the first person to mention this but the more I read it the better I feel with my 2WD!

    Thanks :D

Actually, start looking around on your drives home from work, there are some nuggets I've found concerning firewood. There is a little Citgo I pass everyday on my way to work that stocks up on bundles of firewood, whenever I go to state parks (where you can't take wood from the forest) I grab a few. The park itself, where I go at least, also sells wood there on site for reasonable prices.

    BTW,

I've been on the fence for a while regarding Tonneau covers & I think that with the upcoming trip I can benefit from one. I just want a simple soft roll-up tonneau (out of sight, out of mind). I know that an Undercover Hard tonneau is the most secure but it's expensive & I don't have a need for it. My bro-in-law has an '06 Silverado that he bought new & it has a soft tonneau & he has never had an issue with theft. Truth is if they want it bad enough they'll open the soft cover, pry open the hard one, or break your window.

I know to stay away from the snap button type tonneaus. I guess the velcro type. I'll post my findings & what I end up with.

I'm intrigued. Considering this but not sure yet. 1. Have to convince my wife, it's her birthday on the 3rd. 2. We are already driving up to Tennessee for vacation during Christmas. Trips may be to close together for me.

If I do get to go, I might have a hook up for fire wood. I work at a couple of restaurants that use wood (hickory) for cooking. I know the supplier. I might be able to grab some from him.

I will try to edit the list tonight. That makes 18 or 19 vehicles. Those of you adding vehicles next to your names should just be adding them to the bottom of the list as they will have to pay the same as the rest of us.

Thanks, that will make updating the OP much easier when I get back to my PC.

And if I remember correctly we have enough room for 22 vehicles but we can always add a few more if need be.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what Peter said, we had 11 sites reserved, but I think 2 of them might have only be for one night.
