Ball joint spacers and lift blocks, am I doing it right?
I haven't committed yet, my wife is still deciding which weekend in January to have our daughters fist birthday party on. Most likely we will be attending and camping all nights though.

Has anyone called to see if the sites can be reserved over the phone and then pay upon arrival? I did a search and found a number for Holder and Tillis Hills ((352) 344-4238)). It's worth a shot and if nobody else has time I'll call on Monday or Tuesday.

    Guy,

    That would be cool. Thanks.

    You got it Nick!

That's a great suggestion! If you can't call then PM me & I'll call. I have yard work but I'm on vacation so I can do it.

Didn't mean to thread jack. Just showing that I have a busy couple of days ahead. I should be done by Wednesday.

I'm glad to see that there is finally some movement in this thread. If there is anything needed from me on my end to make this meet happen then let me know.

thats a nice lookin taco you got there Tac

in other news, I think I need to get my front tires re-balanced or something, had to return my rims I bought because i didnt pay attention to how wide they were, way too wide for my tires, so the guy at the shop re-aired my tires up after deflating the front 2 and finding out about the rims, now Im getting some vibration in my steering wheel after about 35+ mph

Thank you! Too bad you are so far. Otherwise, I'd balance them for you at my job.

hehe, theres just something about 2nd gen silver dblcbs that really just strike me as sexy, I love em all to death lol XD...ya it does suck being here on the panhandle sometimes, but I cant really choose where I want to be lol, not for another 5 years at least, after I get out of the AF that is lol.

but the vibration or shaking that is in my steering wheel, is that because of the front tires? since they were deflated and just re-infalted, would they have to be re-balanced? because I wasnt getting the shaking in my steering wheel until after the incident with my rims the other day

I think that the 2nd gens look good in many colors but in my opinion Silver is the best. The look of it, it's easy to maintain clean, you can put your hand on the hood on a summers day and not burn your skin off, it goes well with black or chrome, it goes well with machine finished or black wheels. Yeah. I like Silver.

Did you see the pics of the Homestead meet that we had a couple of Sundays ago. 5 Tacomas total & 4 were Silver! It was funny as we saw all of our trucks. It looked as if we had planned it. Haha.

As for your tires, deflating & re-inflating them will not cause your tires to o off balance. I've done that a few times for sand driving & never had that issue.

Now, if the postion of the tire shifted on the wheel when it was deflatet then yes, you will throw out your balance. Or, maybe a wheel weight fell off when it was deflated. You can dismount a tire compketely off of its wheel& reinstall it in the exact same position that it was previously mounted in & your balance wil remain un-affected.

Ah, okay so it was just a clearance issue then? Cuz, I'm thinking that those tires (265/75 R16s) would have fit on the wheels.

This is a pic of my '83. Those were 33x12.50 R15s on 15x12" wheels. The tire tech that put them on tried to tell me the wheels were too wide and he couldn't get the beads to seat...until I went out there and inflated one for him. Then he quietly finished the job.

I guess it might make a difference on 16 inch wheels since there's less sidewall, but I dunno.

BTW, congratulations on your daughters upcoming first birthday. Your wife will remember that forever. It's more for her, & you, than your daughter. Good luck with the planning :)

    Good morning TW,

I was reading our recent posts & I realize that we (I'm including myself here) are getting off of the Citrus topic & I don't want to disrespect Toyota Tech31. I'm going to continue this conversation post #171 (which was me also off of the Citrus topic) on the Florida BS thread.

    Thanks.

    :)

PS. I hope we have a great turn out for the event!!!!

I called the # GuyHuey posted & left a message on their machine for someone to call me regarding campsite reservations. I'm going to ask them about reserving 10-15 campsites together. I'll let you know what they say.

    UPDATE:

I spoke to Eddy Duval at the Park & here are the details:

$20 per night (to be paid in CASH upon arrival)
Electricity, water & tax are included in that price.

No over-the-phone prepayments. All you could do is call & reserve the site verbally. I say we move fast.

    No pets allowed.

Up to 5 people per site.

    Sites 27 & 28 are across the street from 11-15 & 29-37

Keep in mind that I have never been there so I am strictly going on Eddy's info.

I have no idea how far apart these sites are.

TW, are we going or not?

This is over 2 months in advance & theres not much available for the evenings of Jan 3 & 4.

    I'm gonna reserve mine already.

So we just need to give then a verbal on how many? If 5 per site, I'd say 5 or 6 sites would be a normal turnout. But if payment isn't due till we get there, are they going to expect payment for what we reserved?

And someone has to get there first to pay for it all I guess that's what mike was doing.

I've called them back twice but they don't answer. I left another message. The recording says "Hello, you have reached The Tillis Hills Recreation area. For reservations, please leave a message"
