its not that hard honestly, itll be so much easier to just remove the whole thing, use a spring compressor, unbolt the shock and slide the new one in. should only take a couple hours, but you know how that stuff goes lol, shouldnt be an all day process. I think the longest part is gonna be removing and re installing the coilover back into the truck

Thanks for the offer, but it won't be this weekend; I haven't ordered them. I mainly wanted to know if it was such a hassle I should find a shop to do it. @Jystr - You up for a day installing these sometime this month?

This is the exact method I used to install my front lift. It was SO easy. Just have a second person there so when you're reassembling, they can guide the strut back into place as you're jacking up the LCA. Each side took like 40 minutes. Make sure to remove the sway bar to make it easier.

@RomeoFour8 did you watch the 2 videos of how to do the install without a spring compressor?

I watched several a few weeks ago; I will be watching more again this week so I am ready for install day. Those rental spring compressors look to sketchy for me to use.

@Jyster - I'll get them ordered this week. How does the 17th look for you?

Agreed with the compressors. I followed this video and everything went great. Here's my pointers that are already covered.

Remove the sway bar completely during install
Make sure to clearly mark the alignment tabs on the LCAs with a sharpie
I left the top hats on the whole time. Didn't see the point in removing them as I wasn't going to replace them.
I believe the the top of the strut takes a 5mm wrench to hold it from spinning.

    Good luck!

Was your top hat worn out like in the video? I'm thinking I should order those too just in case.

Not positive since I didn't actually remove it, but with only 15k miles when installed, I doubt it.

I have almost 85K miles. I will probably just replace them depending on how expensive they are.

man.....I really hate how I keep not getting notifications for this page....really really irritating lol

I dont think you can run the 12s in the back without the relocation. I mean...you might, but you're running the risk of damaging your shock with being too long and bottoming out I believe

im not gonna be able to join unfortunately, Im gonna be busy this next month or so and not gonna be able to do much
