If you don't need to bring your truck onto base, you can just ride with me and do not require a pass, as you are considered a trusted passenger.

If you need your rig for any reason, we will get you a pass. For the pass, you need a valid drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance. You show that at the little hut just before the gate with me, and get a pass on the spot.

 

I grew up in Mexico Beach till I came to Jax for college in 04, we used to surf out on Cape San Blas and I was driving on the beach out there last time I went home.

 

and yes they do care about dogs on the beach. They used to have a spot where they didn't on Cape San Blas but last time I was home they actually told us we had to leave with the dog. You can take your dog in St. Joe Beach and no one really care but you can't drive on the beach there.

No you need a permit, they are rather expensive if you are not from gulf county but cheap as hell for locals. We went and got one under my fathers truck (ford) and I slapped it on my truck, it was like $15 or something and if you are over like 55 you never have to renew it. For me being my truck is registered in duval county it would be like $250/300 for a yearly pass or more.
I am not even sure what day passes would be. I think you would have to look it up. They sell the passes at the courthouse there but I have never seen anyone out on the beach checking anyway. Would be a sick meet though to hit up the beach there and go to Indian Pass Raw Bar after.

Yeah I thought you had to have one. I knew gulf residents got a break but didn't know how much. I wish we could drivw on the beach here but we barely have any...they'd rather have condos than sand.

But here on the actual application it says non residents are $300/year but still doesn't mention day passes. I would think they would have day passes though. You could call or I could ask my brother in law as he is the city manager of Gulf county
