Because, you suspension is already sad. Need refreshed anyways. Spacers will just kill you current suspension and make your ride go to shit.

This is where prioritizing comes in to the game dude. If you want the armor, get the right supporting mods. Obviously you can afford some Kings or Fox coil overs so just get the billys and Eibachs till you can. You can always resell them on here fast as they are so popular. Just like what Jlee did. And many others.

Or you can save for the nice lift first then get aromor. It all depends on the time frame. Really, if you go the lift first(which i think you should do) then you'll be fine as is. You have sliders which is more important then bumpers. ANd if you fuck up a bumper, just a better reason to get a new one.

So how about you just lift it right next summer and then get armor later?

paint the lower chrome black i bet that'll help alot. make it blend with the wheel trim..

 

nah just keep it black man. Goes well with the green as is. Tan would just be too random lol

and id use like spray bed liner on the sliders. little more robust then paint.

and id leave the grill chrome too. Just try the bumper only..i bet you'll dig it

That's what I figured.

IMO a 2" lift is a reasonable option. In your case, I would do it with 5100s set the 2.5" setting with your stock coils. Again, IMO, 620# Eibach coils give too much lift and create many other issues.

However, it does appear as though the early Tacomas, 95.5-97s, are able to handle the 3.5" of lift better than the later, 01-04 Tacomas do.

 

Yeah 5100's can be set up to 2.5", so with the engine sag you'll sit at 2". your stock coils will be fine until they start getting tired. Then put some 5100's and an aal in the back. Your probly lookin at $4-500

The TRD coils will be OK for a while. Their "progressive" nature means that the upper portion of the coils compress a bit easier than the lower portion and when you pre-load them the progressive portion of the coils will be touching. Not a big deal in the short run.

How long?? Depends on how you use the truck. All highway, you'll be OK for as long as the 5100s last. Flex then to the max every weekend, you'll might be able to get a good wheelin season outa them before you'll be anxious to go to an adjustable coilover.

I know, there's an All Pro group buy on TW too. Not enough funds this year. And i need to make a decision on the BL before i commit to some sliders and bumpers.

 

yea you have to get rid of that BL.

 

Yea yeah i know my rear needs new springs. There just sitting here waiting to be installed.

But to take out the BL is a big job and costly

I do have new leafs. Just when they do go out, ill want expos. I would got those first but just didn't want to do that big of a mod.

 

Expos are good if you have a topper or weight in the back. Stiff springs but good for rough roads. Kinda the reason i went with the standards

 

well ill have a bed rack and some good hopefully in the future by then. Im going for a tail/expo rig so ill need the stiff springs.
