The Frankenstein Build! LT/Expo/Trail rig..and BS

Jon's tiny car was literally packed with all sorts of parts off his truck.

Within 7 minutes of pulling into the driveway (well half way before his transmission took a shit), my garage and driveway were filled with CV axles, A/C units, spindles, UCAs, rotors... bags of random shit, one boot, etc. A hoarder's wet dream.

Since then he's been stashing shit underneath your tarp of stuff. Literally chirping like a squirrel and looking around all sketchy as if he's burying a nut for the winter.

 

he is a pack rat haha i have no idea why he would be doing that


and damn, so he is for real stuck there for a while huh? lol

 

No. Last night, after he broke two motor mounts when I was at a friend's house, I suggested just starting it in 2nd gear, take off out of my driveway and see what happens.

He drove around the block, came back and said, "it's shifting fine"



There's something seriously not right with that car though.

 

Dang..that sucks. Its not very old either..bummer. Hope he can make it out okay..

 

Well, he drove it to the pick and pull and (presumably) stayed at his aunt and uncle's last night.

I haven't received any rescue calls so it seems okay, I suppose.

I'm kinda worried about his drive home though... especially with two busted motor mounts now.

 

yea..wonder how those busted..not like that thing has massive torque.

 

All I can say is wow!! After several days of reading and lots of screen shots, I just finished reading your entire build/bs!! You have one awesome truck!!! One question though, can you post a picture of where you ran all the wiring to the bed and a picture of what you trimmed to fit the 33s. Awesome build and would love to see LT on this truck! It will make me spend more money but I am ok with it!! Haha

I will gladly take a photo for the big ass bundle of wires coming out of the truck for you as soon as i get home. Will be 2 weeks. I can't WAIT to see my truck again.

As for 33 trimming..should be some shots in here. But i don't think they are good so ill take some more for you of that as well.

Long travel i hope is very soon as well as dual lockers and a regear we will see how things pan out though. Im hoping it all works out.

Your are correct.

Going rear first is a much better idea for true baja style driving.

But right now Frankenstein is a fat ass tippy rig. Front LT will add a bit of stability to it and while it'll set me up for a more go fast style that I hope to transition more into. For now it'll serve me the purpose of just more wheel travel.

14ish inches of it. That is the biggest reason for it at the moment.

Eventually I'd like to re do the bed rack and all when I do the rear bed cage for LT out there. I also hope to start building the double cab into the main heavy camp/expo rig for a support type rig for Frankenstein.
