    You can run bypasses with the ORI's shouldn't affect much really, you just wouldn't quite have the tuning flexibility that you would without them but the extra dampening will be nice.

    Nothing weird is happening once they break in. With the temps, when it gets cold they drop, when it warms up they raise. It's not more than an inch really anyway. If you have N2 like JW does, then you just add some or take some out as needed. Basically just add some pressure once winter sets in and remove some once summer arrives. So far my favorite thing about them is the fact that I have like no body roll! It is awesome! They are also easy to tune. You don't have to take them apart and rebuild them to tune them


    The once a year thing is just a piece of mind example I threw out there. There are a lot of guys out there that Jerry found that have been running their ORI's for 3-5 years now without rebuilding. The reason for the piece of mind, is that if an air shocks go out you have nothing to hold you up anymore.

    Although it may not be that big of a deal. Jerry put too much air in one of his and blew it up and last I knew he hasn't fixed it yet. When he wants to go wheeling he just airs it up and it holds long enough for him to wheel that day. I imagine if you are on the trail and have CO2 or N2, you could just air it up with that to get you home.

    Given my major I could probably just build a board with selectable switches and just flip the switches and have pressure sensors shut it off at set pressures so it would be as easy as flipping some switches and waiting a few seconds.

    You can't really see it in this pic, but that switch has 4 settings. Each setting is a terrain type, ie mud, snow, highway, gravel. You flip the switch to the setting you want and it sets the pressure to desired setting.

    If I wanted to be simple I could just have one 3 setting switch. Street, Dunes, Rocks. Or have 4 switches each with those 3 settings and just flip them.

    When we wheel in groups it is slow moving enough that you have plenty of time to look at the trail ahead and flip the switches and go.

    and in the same situation...i bet monte and myself would do the same thing...braap right on through with out much more thought than "how much more skinny pedal does it want" without giving a thought to what setting the shocks should be at

    yea..if you want to wire and setup up something like that..go for it.

    Sounds complicated and asking for something to fail..plus a solenoid to handle those kind of pressures accurately..pricey..haha


    I guess..:notsure:


    Pretty much..haha while your sitting wait and deciding on what to run..we will be gone..haha


    I mean its a cool idea and im sure it could work.

    But id rather just drive my shit i brought..i'll know how it handles and how to drive it through whatever im driving it through..i see no reason to change stuff on the fly..

    Icons are valves better for daily driving? Or at least I thought so? They're digressive so the faster you go the smoother they are versus Kings that are progressive.

    Opposite man.

    Icons will ride stiffer slower and crawling stuff. But yes, the faster you go, the smoother they get.

    Kings/Foxes/SAWs are progressive..so the faster you get the harder they get. But for DDing and crawling they are a softer.


    Not that thats saying Icons are a lesser shock and aren't good for DDing..just a personal thing and will ride different. Some hate it, some love it.

    How is stiffer better for daily driving? Wouldn't icons be better for driving on the highway since they get softer?

    I don't do much highway driving so the "softer" ride might be the better way to go. But anything has to be better than these spacers...

    Its not..so Icons usually aren't favored to DD..as they are stiffer at slower speeds.


    Just because your going fast doesn't mean they just get smoother. When we say that..we mean over whoops/washboards. Shocks can't tell if your going faster..obviously..

    The harder you push icons the smoother they run..But for just driving on a road..they are stiffer.

    Kings/foxes/SAWs run softer on the roads..but when you push them through the whoops and wash boards stiffen up more.


    Now..this might seem bad..but is it?

    Softer through washborads is great..long as yoru going perfectly straight..as softer means more body roll..

    which means Kings ect. would roll a bit more then Icons on just a normal road.

    But Kings get a big stiffer on whoops/washboards so while you might feel it a bit more..there is more control at speed..


    Then for slow trail stuff..your ride will feel smoother with kings then icons.


    Make sense?

    All in all..the effects of it can be a big difference or hardly noticeable. All depends on you really.

    well..you mean when it hits a bump or pot hole..or something..in the road at hwy speed. Shock can't tell your going 65mph over 5 mph on smooth road..haha
