Yea they are fine. Not really sure how the nut stripped even..no idea how ill get a new one either

 

Wait, was that the stock one? Or will the stock one not work?

I know on the rear you probably went to a 29 spline (up from 27) pinion but the front setup should be the same size isn't it? I would think the nut sizes remain the same too.

 

Yes same nut works. But the one Yukon gave me didn't have a big washer on it so it was smaller and was barely wide enough to pull down the flange. I use the Yukon on to sart it. Then the OEM one to finish it as it was wide and fit easy.

Now. Neither will go on good.

Yea they look fine. Pinion steel is hard a fuck. Nuts aren't and a bit chewed.

Maybe I can get one at a parts store.

Was pretty sure I'd drive it this Sunday..but..may not now..

 

Should be able to get a pinion nut from a parts store. Fairly common.

You should tally up the hours you put into this, pay yourself, and then buy some lockers.

 

I'm not buying lockers this year for two reasons..

One: can't afford it

Two: I don't want to tear these things apart again till at least next year haha

But a lot a lot of hours no doubt

Lockers could also reduce the risk of breaking stuff.

 

Eh..not really..increase cv failure.

Plus..lockers tend to take you more places your shouldn't go..sorta..so..more damage haha

 

Running the same trails you could potentially go slower (less damage possibly), or even choose different lines (less damage, or a line that would keep you off your skids).

Sucks about the nut.

 

No one takes the easy line when they get lockers..or the easy trails haha least I sure wont.
