    You will probably have to remove your rear skid to be able to see it. Not sure you will want to do that.

    On that note, what is the best way to get from Poco to Powell? Do I have to go north thru Butte? If the weather is bad, that way would at least be mostly interstate until Billings.

    You could..or south. Or straight through into Wyoming. Will depend on the winter really.

    The fastest way would be up to Idaho falls. Into Jackson then to lander and up to powell.

    But that's two mountain passes..really three but the wind rivers by thermop is rarely bad.

    Assuming the weather is not an issue. This makes sense.

    A question about this route...

    Whe going from Idaho Fall to Jackson, google maps wants me to go thru Victor instead of down by Palisades Reservoir. :confused: Assuming winter driving conditions, which is a better (i.e., more likely to be plowed) route.

    What is the southern route you were referencing? Are you referring to going thru SLc and then east on I-80? That far south?

    South to kemmerer and hwy 28 to lander. Super dull. I have done it. But possible.

    Hey 26 is a state road so it would be plowed before the other one. Will depend on the winter really.

    Thanks Buddy. You may not have to pull that skid. :notsure: IIRC, that skid is not that wide. You may be able to peer past it from the side.

    Is that Pocotello south on I-15 to McCammon then 30 east to Kremmerer? Getting from Kremmerer to 28 looks pretty convoluted.

    26 is the one that goes by Palisades Resi. The shorter route that goes thru Victor that Google suggests is 31. Have you driven that?

    Victor is the faster route. That's the way we always come back from Yellowstone/Jackson. I wouldn't want to drive that in icy conditions though. Its a pretty windy steep pass...

    As for taking the highway through palisades into Alpine that road is fairly flat and wouldn't be bad in icy conditions with proper driving. If you are headed from Alpine to Jackson I'm not sure if that pass if worse than the one between Victor and Jackson or not since I haven't driven it. If you path is to continue east from Alpine then that might be a worth while bypass if the weather gets nasty.

    Unfortunately, I can't quite see the spot in question. To see it, I had to come in from behind the front wheel and look from that direction. It is the backside face of the crossmember that the rack mounts to.

    Thanks Brady. Good information. Right now just exploring options. If the weather is really bad, I will most likely stay on the interstate. Head north on I-15 to Butte and do I-90 east.

    I can vouch for that. That pass is pretty bad in a storm. Done that before.

    The route through Butte and isn't bad, the pass from Butte to Billings is probably the only one that you would need to be super concerned about. They usually stay on it pretty well if de-icer and plowing it though.

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    I love your truck Monte! A Tacoma done just right. I want to buy an extra cab and mod it up too. Maybe get started on that this spring if my job pulls thru. Always wanted to build a Jeep because of the open top for summer, but, I already have a 1972 Bronco so I don't really need another convertible 4x4, think I should build a Yota for winter wheelin'. I park my Bronco in the winter, I don't want it getting rust from driving in the winter.
