Fine..more effective then. Haha tuning is a bit easier too.

Couldn't anwser that really. It won't be huge but the frame width and some..so..idk..3-4"? Not a huge difference.

Not an excessive move though. You could do it. Total chaos makes a great kit to do this on our trucks.

The main reason is I can get the shock top mount much higher without going though the bed really..at least much. Only the top portion of the tubing will be poking through the bed wheel wells for mine. This means you don't have to make larger bumps because you retain up travel.

    VS

lifting our truck right now like say, me. I gain some down travel but loose up travel because I have a longer shock in the stock location. It will max out the compression of the shock before it hits the stock bump. So you have to get longer bumps to save your shocks. Thus loss in up travel.

I will gain more travel over all with the higher mounted outboard shock but I won't compromise bed space.

Slightly more effective use of the shock and its valving is just a bonus for me.

Both will be slightly leaned forward so there will be room for a hydro bump. I won't alternate like stock.

Gonna keep an eye on this. LT always looks awesome to me but I want to retain bed space and don't want to go through the bed via a bed cage. Cantilever seemed like a sweet way to do it as well but getting that fabricated on the east coast would probably be nearly impossible.

I always thought I would just swap in a 60 but I never thought about what a pain that would be regarding brakes. This 2nd gen tundra idea enthralls me.

    LOL
    This^

getting the dampening correct is putting the shocks furthest outboard as possible. think about when the back of the truck flexs going through high speed slight off camber woops, the shocks wont be having a 1:1 motion of travel of flexing side/side vs up/down it will. the furthest outboard gets the motion as close to 1:1 as possible when flexing...

ahh okay thanks for clarification. i was really confused. lol.

    What??

This makes no sense at all...

This guy would know all this. Tundra King.

I thought about canti too. But yes. Lot of fab work and it's not super easy to dial in I guess. Still a good setups are out there. Have seen several that work awesome. Another turn off for me was how low some of the rear crossmembers hung.

    10?! Dang. I'd have said 5 :p haha

    Thanks man!

Soon  whole write will be coming.

According to the 2 pictures posted the ARB has 2 more spiders gears.

In this pic you can see the 4 spider gears and the 2 side gears for the axles.

In this pic you can see the 2 side gears for the axles and 2 spiders gears. There should be another spider gear visible in this pic if there were 4, but since there is just that single center pin running between the 2 spiders visible, this housing wasn't designed to run 4 spiders like the ARB housing.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.

I love how mine are mounted. Even though they are a bit further in and at a steeper angle than the stock location, they dampen much better than the bisteins did (valved a bit stiffer?). I don't know if I can romp on them too hard but flex is pretty good and body role is very manageable. Only issue is at full drop the shock is almost out of travel. I need 11 or 12" I think.

well with his he can rebuild and valve them to how they need to be :)
that just means yours were valved to stiff from the beginning.

nothing wrong with angling shocks or not having 1:1 motion in the shocks if your nor planning on going balls to the walls. if your crawling, its all BOUT DAT FLEX DOE!

also i see you said at full droop your shock is almost out of travel..... thats how it should be. its only bad if your shock is extending all the way and is the one to stop your suspension from drooping any further.

Oh gotcha Brady. Just woke up haha

Yea but if you got longer shocks you'd need longer bumps..see the problem?

But they work good I am sure.

Sorry to bother you monte. Got a quick question. My 4runner is leaking antifreeze pretty bad. It's leaking and dripping off the bolt to the right under oil filter and around the oil pan right there. Any ideas of what's causing it. I replaced thermostat a month ago

Could be the freeze plug right above the AC. Or..head gasket. But I doubt it's that.

What's the loose hose dangling there though?
