Found out that Andy's good friend, who has been working in fab shops all his life, and had grown up on the rubicon in the good ol days...lives across the street. So we talked trucks and I got an in depth look at the rubicon form a photo album lol. Learned about toyota rock...seems like a pretty sweet place to drive my toyota over

Kinda. There was a guy who "completed" the rubicon on 32's in his 1st gen (I think it was a 1st gen) but I guess it comes down to what you consider completing it. haha Some guys will bypass everything and say they completed a trail and others won't say they complete a trail unless they have done every single obstacle on it.

Bingo. I'm with konsta on this one. If you bypass everything on the rubicon...you didn't complete the rubicon. Nothing wrong with a Winch or strap if you gave it a good shot and are stuck half way through an obstacle.
Nothing wrong with going there for the trip and the scenery and to be apart of an epic trail. I totally dig that and that's for sure part of why I want to run it. But I also want the challenge of running it

 

I would never claim to "complete" the trail as i believe the same, but I would enjoy just being there and "running" what I could run. It's different for everyone. I wouldn't try it with my current setup I dont think.

 

After the truck is ready and done up for moab I would give it the good ol college try for sure. Bigger tires would be kinda nice lol, hopefully just some new 35s by that point

But I agree. Just being there would be sweet. The guy I was bsing with last night said that every Friday night it is a big ol party out on the salb where you start. Super fun atmosphere!

I wouldn't call it an ego trip, just a personal accomplishment. I would say I landed a snowboard trick if I landed and washed out at the end. Same thing in wouldn't say i truly ran a trail if I skipped all the obstacles. Just a different way of looking at it is all.
