    Eh. I hacked out the hangers by choice. I wanted to use the 63s and throw on some creepers. Adam got awesome droop out of his pack too. How you threw together a bunch of leafs to make it work that well. I don't know haha. Luck? But the weight is a big plus, certainly helps.

    What don't you like about the shackle flip? I think its a great idea... It adds gobs of travel.

    yea cause really..you get to run a longer shock..but you have to add a bigger bump or risk bottoming out the shock..so really it just ends up moving where the wheel travel is at..which is just lower so it appears you get tons of droop but you loose up travel..make sense?

    granted. thats an issue with 1st gens too. Really any truck and the stock shock mounts.

    Take shock mounting completely out of the equation. Doing a shackle flip will preload the spring. Depending on rear mounting location, you'll either have just about the same ride height or slightly higher. Now paired with a preloaded spring, yeah, you'll get more droop travel, but the pack is almost flat just at ride height. Any amount of flexy and you're negative arch. Which means clapped out springs a lot sooner or long ass bump stops. Not only that...since every leaf pack I've seen for Tacomas are progressive, since the spring is more preloaded...it's gonna ride like shit!
    Oh, and forget go fast wheeling. No bump travel means no fun.

    Damn you guys... okay my plan was a shackle flip and relocating my shock mounts so I can run a 12" shock. I hope that will let me leave my bumpstops stock or not have to move them down to much. I don't want any preload or any loss of uptravel...

    Doing the shackle flip means you'll have to extend the bumps from keeping the leafs from going mega negative. A little is okay. But a lot isn't.

    The pelfrey relocation kit is sick and runs a 12" shock on stock shackles. Plus hydro bumps. Marc has it on his rig and it is sweeeeettt

    even then you should have a touch taller bump with your short bodies. Yours are damn close to perfect though..what i wish i had gotten them first go around...

    Dude...draw a line. It's that simple.
    Draw an imaginary line from the front hanger to the shackle where the leaf connects on your current inverted shackle.
    Now pretend you have a shackle flip (which is now BELOW the frame). Draw another imaginary line where the spring would connect to the shackle.
    Line 1 is higher than line 2. Meaning shackle flip = lost uptravel and preloaded spring. You'll have to drop your bump stops like over 2".

    Not that long really..mine are 5.5 right now. 6" would only be a 1.25" lift shackle.
