I will make it someday. But not soon I think. Doesn't work financially for me because it's in May and I get out if school right at May. Which means I am super broke. That and I'm in St. Louis for school and can't really prep Frank for the trip. But I do know my dad wants to do it. If the dates line up this year and I can start work early enough and Frank is good. Maybe I'll come for part of it this year. But not likely.

I'll return to moab someday though. Place is sweet.

 

Attendance would probably double if he were to go again.

By Oct 2016 I will have 3 weeks (~120 hours) of available vacation time. So, depending on adventures between then and now, might be able to do something this year.

 

Is that what you want to do? Not rubi? Not Canada/ak?

 

I think going back to Canada, particularly, follow Rickashay, and explore Banff/Canadian Rockies is number one for me. Going back to Moab and exploring the Sierra Navada (including the Rubicon trail) is still on the list tho.

edit: It would be cool to do two things tho. That was whte I was referring to with having 3 weeks of vac. No way to do all 3 weeks in one shot.

 

We could easily do 3 weeks straight with Canada and ak.

Idk how my life will be yet..so I guess two trips could be possible.

 

I'm pretty sure my boss would freak out if I wanted 3 weeks off in one chunk. May not be possible.

However, breaking up my time off into two trips would be different. I guess we'll just have to see how things play out this year.

Not necessarily agreeing with that scenario, but taking a week of vacation does maximize the time because its really 10 days when you consider the weekend before and the weekend after. 2 days for travel at each end, so 5 solid days for group activities.

Unfortunately, for many adventures, limiting yourself to 5 days with the group will limit what you can do and is reminiscent of the past summer.

 

To an extent, I'm in the same boat with the 4 weeks annual I get. I couldn't take it all at once if I wanted to. That was the point I was making earlier. Even 2 weeks at once requires politicking/negotiating for it and even then there are some times during the year there is no way. But it does help that I've been there a long time.

I'd be interested in meeting up with you guys if you make it to Alberta. I know of a couple others who'd also make the trip to join up with you for a day or so.

You two are lame. One week? God. We are supposed to do longer trips not shorter.

A week is not long enough for me. It take 4 days on the trail for me to feel like I'm in the groove and really enjoying being away from normal life.
