    I have replaced the passenger side one. Twice. Once because it was leaking. And once because I put it in backwards :anonymous:

    It's pretty straight forward though. Only tip Id say is to tap in the seal but not too far. Get it in there and then use the cv to push it where it needs to sit. Other wise it'll go too far in.

    When I replace my axles, should I just figure on new seals at that time? Or just wait for a leak? 155K on the originals now.

    Drop bracket lift and booger welds
    I believe the way we did it for the passenger side was put the seal on the CV first before we put it in. Helped bring the seal to the right depth without going too far.

    Black dog just noticed my 20year old factory clutch is starting to slip when trying to accelerate hard... Advice on aftermarket clutched would be much appreciated.... I've got 500 miles till I'm home lol

    Yeah my passenger side has a slight leak. Eventually I'll have to replace it. I'm mainly worried about taking the cv out. Idk about the diff side of the shaft, like how's it connects up and whether or not if have to mess with the auto disconnecting diff. parts.

    Monte did the swap on my truck for me. I recall there being only a couple of slightly tricky spots. One was figuring out how much space was required to fill the gap for the main mount to the stock bracket. The other was adapting the 3 wire stock connect to just two wires. One thing we wanted to do was to be able to swap back to the stock alt easily as a trail fix in the event the GM alt failed a long way from home.

    Depends on your wants and needs. If you want a stocking feel but a but better feel. LCE makes a great kit.

    Nah just pull it out man. It works the same as the driver side. Just an E clip holding it in. Whack it with a wood hammer to get it back in.

    Thanks man, much appreciated. I had to remove the lower bracket (for the tension adjustment nut) just to fit it in. I'm going to pick up a GM pig tail tomorrow.

    Thanks for the tips everyone. Also, another random question, those adjustable bilstein 5100 shocks with the extended 3 inch coils you had earlier, you could theoretically 5.5 inch of total lift right? If u just extend the shock to 2.5 plus the 3 inch lift from coils right? I'm considering this upgrade because currently I just have a spacer lift that I would like to replace soon.

    Not without dropping the front diff to accommodate. 3" is about the max your stock front end can handle due to the CV axel's.
