Really? I know Mike has had some stuff going on, but I don't know nothing about Marlin. You tried Jim at Inchworm or Low Range Off-road?

@malburg114 is in the process right now of converting his pre-runner to SAS and a crawl box.

Weird. Marlin posted on Facebook not long ago about a snow wheeling trip, so I wouldn't know. Maybe you could look at Inchworm Gear on Low Range Offroad. My dad has one in his FJC, the second prototype that Jim ever made. Works like a charm. Inchworm basically is just Marlin Crawler rebranded as well. Same parts, same housing and whatnot.

You'd have to look at Low Range Off-road. Before Jim sold the business to LRoR he sold everything you needed. Front/Rear Adapter, Crawl Box, Seals, etc... For something like 2k, which is about the same price as Marlin. I think LRoR is doing the same thing but you'd have to look.

Yea it's about 2k but I bet I can make my own with just the adapter plate for less

Even if you could make your own, I don't see why you would when you'd get lower gearing out of a crawl box. The other option out there is an Altas T-case, but even then going triple sticks on a crawl box with all the gearing range you'd have, it's kind of hard not to go that route. That just me though.

I got the 4.7 tc with 2.28 crawl box from low range. Great customer service and recommend going with them. Just remeber to buy the shifts, they are sold seperate.

Original plan was to find a gear driven tc and then get the adapter and crawl box and do it myself as well but the tc were so hard to find and everyone wanted a fortune for them. Was actually about the same price to buy the tc and crawl box already done frim low range once I priced it all out.

Every 4 cylinder 4 runner/pickup at the junk yards here on the west coast already had the transfer cases striped. Only found one private yard that had them and they would only sell me the transmission and tc but I had already bought the prerunner adapter from lowrange and dual cases.

I have a yard here with at least 5 of them. But idk how much he would want for them.

If i had the cash id do the 4.7 box from Lowrange for sure.

Doubt i'll have that kind of mod money this year though. sadly. Always been on the list though. we will see i guess.

Don't you have to wheel more/harder trails to justify a crawlbox? :stirthepot:

@ponethousand he means that he'll keep it at a steady 1/2 mph in low-low while he goes over a speed bump :luvya:

Love it. Seriously. the more miles i put on it, the more i like it. I have about 3000 on it after my last trip with a lot of on road and offroad. Lots of high speed stuff and some crawling. Its great in the rocks and amazing going fast. I can't wait to beef up the front more with gussets and dial in the shocks some. Add some front bumps too. Plus of course get some new rear shocks to match haha

I am loving how frank is working though. very fun to drive.

My only major complaint is i can't seem to hold an alignment for shit. And the last one i got my camber was off a lot so my tires are wore like shit. I need to just get good at doing it myself.

Im considering switch coils again too, but really like the current 16'' 700s up front. But i think if i revalved the shocks and added bumps and secondaries id be happier with a 18'' 600lb coil for the rock crawling. But probably leave it for now. It works great.
