    Nothing to do with your thing but I also found that there was two ECU's In 03 for a 5vz 4x4 auto an older 03 and a newer 03. Two different part numbers. But both worked for my motor. It's odd how toyota changes ecu's in the middle of the year like that.

    Huh. That's an odd year for that . Though I know they switched to fly by wire in 04. Wouldn't think that would have something to do with it.

    They switched in 03. I asked a Toyota tech about it and he said it was due to an update but didn't know what the update was. :notsure: I'm just glad it worked because I got the older 03 ecu and the motor originally ran off the newer ecu according to the vin of the truck the motor came out of.
