You want a 250l pump? Free? I changed mine out for an AEM 320 and have the 250 and stock sitting on my garage shelf. The wire insulation didn't like the ethanol/fuel and are a little brittle. They shorted together where I soldered them; heat shrink didn't like the fuel/ethanol either. The pump still works though; just blew a fuse. Some PVC heat shrink should fix the insulation.

    Wow thanks for the offer!

Your running ethanol? Damn didn't know that. Shit is nasty on components that weren't made for it.

Is it an AEM one? Or walbro?

Neither, its an offbrand; I forgot what brand. Guy at a car show ran them in his and claimed they used the exact same motor that Walbro used; they are mostly all sourced from one manufacturer much like oil filters.

No ethanol, none around where I live. Just found it on sale for cheaper than the 250L ($75 new) and snatched it up.

ah i see i have not linked anything in OP. Fixed. And never apologize for questions! especially in here i mean come on..look at this thread..haha

This is what i have setup ATM. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...rail-rig-and-bs.159436/page-602#post-12425664

Regrettably i seem to not have posted photos of how i mounted the face plate in Frank..huh. Odd. I wonder where they went. Its similar to Igors, but not as clean. Will be doing what i Did to Igor for sure for the faceplate.

I use the 5100 in both Igor and Frankenstein. I have antennas on both rigs and power so i just swap the radio over as needed. I currently leave it in Igor as i drive him all the time.

Igor and Frankenstein both have dedicated APRS setups that are identical. Both have a hacked GM300 with a TNC and i use a phone with APRS Droid. But I don't swap anything over here. They have their own everything.

Not as detailed as id like. The 5100 is a sweet radio though. Overkill in some ways. Faceplate is large too which is kind of a pro/con. I really like it though.

Remember though that its a DSTAR radio. Which is a digital format. It does analog still just fine, but can ONLY talk DSTAR digitally. Sadly, most digital radios are like this right now. There is a war going on between DSTAR/Fusion(Yaesu)/DMR(Motorola)/PL20. Though some say that DSTAR is winning the battle as just this last few month, Kenwood made a DSTAR Radio which marks the 1st ever 3rd party radio to make a digital compliant radio of another brand. But who knows what will happen. I like DSTAR though, its handy when its available. Which is really the current issue with all digital radios, not the same infrastructure yet as analog. Which is why i still have a dedicated APRS rig in both trucks.

And i still have the mobile hotspot repeater that i move around as necessary

With regards to the blower, Did you check to make sure the settings in the R4 software are correct? I remember the settings are set to something weird like 3 cylinder 2 stroke or something that doesn't seem right, but it is.

Also, maybe knock sensors are acting up. Especially if it's bogging down after 2500-3000 rpms, that's when they kick in.

    Just something to think about.

Yea i know the software is setup. Already did that.

Could also be the knock sensors. Actually it would make sense. It's definitely timing related i think. Not sure if i need new knock sensors or what though. I know Chris showed me a link on swapping out knock sensors.

I email Gadget too but never got a response.

Not sure what i'll do at this point. it ran totally fine before. So tempted to just say fuck it and take it off on put it on Igor. Then i'll consider turboing since i found this:

    https://www.diyautotune.com/support...ion/application-docs/1995-1997-toyota-tacoma/

    https://www.diyautotune.com/product/diypnp-nippon-denso-76pin-unassembled-kit/

Basically a DIY stand alone WITH a base map for my year of 5vzfe. For the same price as an AEM FI6 id have a full tuneable stand alone. Plugs right into the STOCK wiring harness. How cool is that?

Or leave it as is and save for a 2jz.

Either way, if the blower comes off, im not fucking with boost for a while as i just wanna drive him again. So at this point, leaning towards taking the blower off and fixing the front diff to drive him.

Gotcha. That's too bad it didn't work from the start. Everything went fine for me the first time around. But I'm also a 97. But you have the new ecu so you would think it should work fine.

That kits looks pretty cool. I may look into that for future ideas.

actually my 97 has the older ecu. You may have the newer one so thats why no issues for you. Though i don't know why swapping to the 4runner ecu did nothing. Actually made it worse.

Yea looks awesome to me. Lots of support for it too. Most are using it for 5vzfe swaps to MR2s with turbos but still..

There is nothing wrong with doing it that way. I could have done it as well with my 5100.

But i like the flexibility mainly. I can use both sides of my radio as needed. I keep on on 146.520 or whatever someone decided for simplex. Then i have the second side for scanning repeaters. The 5100 allows you to make custom repeater lists derived from the repeater list you programed into it. So i have 1500 repeaters in my radio, but i have a custom mini list of like 10 local to me. That side just sits and scans and scans. If something starts talking, I'll hear it. If im out of the local area, then i just sit on whatever repeaters are near me since the 5100 has GPS built in it can search for the nearest repeaters to my location.

And i can use it to crossband repeat if needed as well. Which I haven't had to do in a while.

APRS just runs all the time in the background.

Only down side i think to this is the need for two antennas.

Needed? No of course not. Doing it how you are now is very common practice. Nothing wrong with it I think. I just want both bands open on my 5100 mainly.

yea my 51a is pretty sweet handheld. Although Grant has it now, just took it with him. 51a is basically my 5100 just in handheld form Dual band..the works. But i haven't used it much in the last two years. Best use is crossbanding with it so you can walk around with it and just hit your own truck then have it go out to a repeater or whoever. Handy that way.

Yea its not needed at all. Just handy and more useful i think. Can do the repeaters around here and G&F, Fire, Police, all that stuff. But yea, not needed. Just how we setup the truck, Grants will be next with a Icom 880h and GM300 APRS rig.
