Yeah $1,500 to able to mate the stock trans doesn't sound like a bargain to me. I'd go for the 6-speed anyway, I think it's the t56? Kinda crazy how affordable the cx products are. The 5vz turbo kit was pretty clean quality although I'm no machinist. $1,000 for motor/trans mounts and headers? Yes please.

When you add it up in your head it's only like... $5,000 right? Sign me up!

yea price wise not too bad. Will have to try it now.

The T56 would be awesome..but its a 2wd tranny. Which means to keep 4wd you'd have to run a divorced Tcase setup..and that pretty much means a bad ass Atlas..so..you know another 2-3k for just your tcase.

I think the NV4500 and Dana 20 is the "cheapest" and strongest option really for 4wd. unless your not going for 4wd.

I'd have no problem running the headers and motor mounts. I'd upgrade the stock perches with the..DMZ..or DTF..can't remember who makes them @JuansTaco can chime in there.

Find an L33 LS1 for under 800 bucks. Add a cam and port the heads and new lifts. Tune it. Run it at around 400hp. Then maybe think up a way to fit a turbo later.

Looking at turbo LS motor and guys just build their own headers from the stock ones with the turbo mounted in front of the motor. If you moved the radiator to the bed, be easy to do that.

@Blackdawg So how close are you to actually pulling the trigger? And I assume it's going into Frank?

Definitely Frank. haha i guess if it went smoothly i'll consider my other rig..but not likely.

Pretty close. I did notice the headers from CXracing look like they won't clear a Front Diff. I emailed them. Even so, it proves you can make headers that do clear. Granted, i don't have 6k just laying around to do this, so it will be a process if i really decide to jump in.

Is there a particular reason you haven't done the shock relocation? Lets you fit a longer shock but it moves the top of the shock inward? Like this? / \

    money. lol

And i won't be angling mine.

I plan on trussing and rebuilding my T100 rear axle, boxing the frame, then adding hoops in the wheel wells to run my shocks outboard. I'm not trying to make a smaller shock fit so no need to angle mine and id rather have the dampening work better that way.

    about right..

What type of work would be needed to run a T100 axle assuming it had the right gears and such? Just move the perches?

T100/Tundra axles use the same diff as tacomas provided you don't have an E locker. The 8.4'' diff is the same. So i just have to swap over my 5.29/arb locked diff.

Yes you have to reweld on leaf perches as the OEM ones are wider than our trucks.

The axle is 6'' wider total, 3'' per side. Matches up with front LT very well.

Is T100 same width as the Tundy's? IIRC there was a minor difference in width I think.

I think they are the same actually. Though id have to measure. If there is a difference i think its like .5 or .25''

I still have my stock gears whatever those are and I also have a locker.

There's a T100 axle available in my area for like 500$ but I'm not really worried about it as I have a lot of other stuff that needs done before that.

your diff won't swap over. The T100 axle can have different gears too.

But id focus on a lot of other things before doing that.

Yeah for sure I was just curious, it has 4:30 or something, I haven't really looked at it.

you have 4.10s. So right there you'll have to spend money to either try and find a 4.30 front or redo both diffs to something that matches. Plus, 500 bucks is pretty steep.
