Will have 4 doors this time. And be a different green, but probably still with a grey tailgate. ;) :p

Actually, now that I think about it, it'll be interesting to see if I get 35's and LT first, or if Igorenstein comes to life first.

    Because, similar answers.

@Blackdawg thank you for letting me use your photo of Frankenstein for our Tacoma's and Coffee event coming up. It was the perfect angle and great for my silhouette that I needed! Thanks Monte! I think it turned out really nice!

Hard to get the silouette right on some of those. As @Toyotacrawler said, you need that "perfect angle"

We all know you have plenty of fail pics :D

I'm just jealous because you have much more win pics to go with them...

BTW, UCA's will go out Friday or Monday. Will PM you.

    HOLY SHIT!!

    A BUILD UPDATE!! :goingcrazy:

    Well..sort of.

Obviously it has been a long ass time since Frank has....well done anything. He's barely moved in a year and a half since his last ball joint mishap.

My new DD SX single cab's motor mounts were bad. And I have had some @Bonzen motor mounts and a tranny mounts sitting on the shelf for a long time. Seemed like a good reason to get them swapped in so i could reuse the TG Bombproof ones and 4xinnovation tranny mount on the SX. So I headed down to Wyo to revive Frank.

He didn't look great...but considering he's been outside basically his whole life, wasn't bad! Needed a good wash.

I apologize, I did not have my camera with me, just my phone. Doesn't take horrid photos though..

    upload_2019-6-22_23-55-4.jpg
    upload_2019-6-22_23-55-24.jpg
    upload_2019-6-22_23-55-34.jpg

Every tire was flat, one had no air at all in it.

Batteries were toast as well. Should have pulled them but I know if I'd had done that my Dad would have stolen them for some crazy HAM radio shit..one was brand new though so should be able to get that one replaced. The only is actually pretty old so..meh.

Anyways jumped him and took him to the car wash before pulling in to the shop.

    upload_2019-6-22_23-57-44.jpg

I started with the motor mounts as I knew those would be the biggest pain to do. The new Bonzen mounts were pretty beefy, not only new mounts but also new block mounts!

    upload_2019-6-22_23-58-46.jpg
    upload_2019-6-22_23-58-55.jpg

AKA...even a bigger pita to install from when I did the TG ones. And wow was it ever. I had to pull the starter and the AC compressor bracket off to get the old ones off...

    But finally did!

    upload_2019-6-23_0-0-11.jpg
    upload_2019-6-23_0-3-32.jpg

You'll notice the block mounts are different. The 95-97/98s used Cast iron mounts vs stamped steel ones. Bonzen uses the stamped steel ones as his base and likes it when you can send your stock ones back afterwords, but has no use for the Iron ones.

Due to the difference there were some complications...mainly this.

    upload_2019-6-23_0-1-46.jpg

I had forgetten about this. I knew about it when I bought them but forgot until now...of course.

The right course of action would be to get later year bolts that aren't as long, aside from one. The one where the AC compressor bracket shares a motor mount bolt..that should be a steel spacer. Sadly, I didn't have this or the time to do. So..

    upload_2019-6-23_0-3-8.jpg

This will have to do for now.

What BITCH motor mounts are. Holy fuck..

    upload_2019-6-23_0-3-48.jpg

This literally took my dad and I most the damn weekend. I would never have gotten the perch bolts to line up without help. Was a total pain. Which to me really just means i have a bent frame or perches...

I had hoped to weld up the perches when doing this, but that'll have to wait. Probably do it when I do the clutch as i can easily pull the motor out too to get to the frame and weld up everything.

Next was the transmission mount. The 4xi came out super easy.

    upload_2019-6-23_0-5-46.jpg
    upload_2019-6-23_0-5-52.jpg

Honestly the 4xinnovations one is pretty nice as its all 1/4'' steel. I just wanted shit to match more than anything :anonymous:

The Bonzen mount went in though pro tip...install it from the front side not the back like I did. Will go in much better, my jack was just in the way.

    upload_2019-6-23_0-7-6.jpg

Anyways, got those in and then...took frank back to his parking spot until.....i don't know when. I have a lot of parts but no space for him in my currently living. I've been toying with finding a prerunner double cab to swap most things over to as well(diffs, tranny, 4wd, 35s, LT, SC, hood/grill, Bumpers, ect) but haven't found the right deal. Be nice though to do that. But might just fix up Frank as is. Need space more than anything.

Either way, I got my other mounts out to use on the SX...however I am in no mood to deal with that shit anytime soon..but need to..ugh.
