Nice man. Keep the rack. I would.

Rusty looking. Nothing a flap disc can't fix!

No. He got that off a 4runner. Sequoia has the same CVS as a tundra.

Ah, missed that part about getting a whole front end off the runner. Makes sense. Thought I was going crazy for a second there.

Yeah, I think I will keep the rack, the runner only had 95k so it should be fine, wasn't leaking that I could see. The Sequoia axle is rusty for sure but just surface scale, bearings feel primo smooth and it's a 4.10 so I'll just leave it be. Brake back plates aren't rusty just a bit outta shape but I'll get them back. Just gotta figure out how to make the rear e brake work. Gonna see if the taco cable can be adapted somehow.

I tried so many things from pry bars to pickle forks. In the end one quick blip of the air chisel popped it off.

It's on the low pressure side, only hose clamps and hose is needed.

    I might pull the filter.

Have you noticed any issues after adding the cooler and filter? Seems like that would all add a lot of head losses to the system, causing the pump to work a lot harder.

Not that I know of minus a little noise returning after 10k. Going to do a fluid swap on the next oil change.

My steering as a little stiff about a minute after start up, then it seems normal. Other than that, I haven't noticed anything else after installing a cooler and filter.

Not that hard to remove all the bracketry with a plasma, was maybe an hour all said and done.

Yeah I'm pumped, gonna get all the brakes sorted out this week and order some spring perches. The slide is a CargoBed 2070 from like 2006 or so. It's super smooth and the deck paint on this new plywood seems good. If I like it, I may just do a sheet of alum later on.

I like it. Seems like the only way to really use a 6' bed to me after using the 5' for so long.

My thoughts are on staying light, this is a 150lb compromise to make it easier to pack thin. I'm thinking about recutting the plywood later on to make use of the space to the rear of the wheel wells too but maybe I'll put a more permanent water supply can there since I always rupture mine.

Yeah you'll have to rethink some of the packing around it. But if a low center of gravity is also on the list then that means a lot RTT which makes access hard. So the slide is worth it. I'd leave the sides a lone. I bet that will be prime real estate for certain other gear stuff. But I also know it'll take a few dozen trips to get it mostly dialed haha
