You have to use the original mounts for the light from you stock front bumper. Basically meaning that you have to cut them out and reuse them for this mod.

I would assume that, if you wanted, you could get a set of blinkers off eBay or somewhere just for this mod.

Did this yesterday. The smaller bulbs are limited as to brightness, but a good set of LEDs would help.

The entire bulb assembly is a rubbery compound. Hopefully it'll seal and last another 100,000 miles as the OEM did. I had some cheap LEDs that weren't very bright and I had some 5w bulbs that were brighter. I'll be picking up some 10w the next time I'm in town.

On a side note. I cut the OEM harnesses then soldered and heat shrunk them together for as best of a water tight seal as I could get. Both turn signals work, yet both blink fast like when there's a light out. I'm going to assUme that it's due to the bulbs wattage being half of the original bulb.

It's due to it being an LED. Less resistance.

I don't have LEDs in yet. But they're just 5w and the original was 10w.

    Could be. I
Either way it's triggered by resistance. Which lower wattage will merit too

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Very good idea indeed, easy to do also. Definitely keeping this in mind if I ever go aftermarket bumper.

I stepped up to a 13.8w bulb and it blinks at it's normal speed now.

I don't know. I can't remember and I can't find the package they were in. I went to two parts house to find them. I went to the section that has the little harness and got one. Then looked at all the bulbs to find the most wattage that wasn't bigger than the fixture itself. But you could actually go a little bigger than that because of the notches cut into the housing. Know what I'm saying?

I was in WallyWorld and thought I'd look for a spare set of bulbs. I can't remember what I had, but both of these look like they'd fit.

Just an FYI anybody trying to do this, heating up a 1" pole works a lot better than the drill. Then you just dremel the notches and make the hole a little bigger

Edit: credit to Monte for that, I just forgot to type that

I started to drill and it was taking forever to start so I found a 1" pole heated it up and bam. Didn't have a dremel so I used the drill bit so it looks like shit, but functional
