Man you know you’re at a certain age if you can recall a time when practically everything Nissan made was really, really cool. Then you wake up on a random day in 2024, and it’s like, “what the hell?”

Frontier remains an easy truck to recommend to others but missed a golden opportunity for ‘25. My guess is they just don’t have the cash to bestow it with anything that gets people excited, unless slapping a set of ‘86 Hardbody nostrils on the hood and pasting “F-r-o-n-t-i-e-r” on the center stack is the sort of thing that gets one excited.

Not a great choice, but I guess I’d take my chances with Toyota’s 2.4T over Nissan’s DI V6. You’ll also have to live w/o some features, but advantage <discounted> TRDOR versus a Pro4X.

Correct, plus being the first year of the new body style. Mine was a 2022 not a 2023 like I said earlier. Plus it did have a lot of rattles in the cab that they could not fix, and the windshield whistle took them a while to fix. They did give me a loaner, but I went back to my 2022 BCLB. The engine and trans in the Frontier were really nice. I would take that V6 over the new four banger turbo Tacoma any day.

Look at all the people here still buy Tacomas with known coolant pipe issues in 3G, frame issues in 1-3G, transmission issues popping up in 4G... show me a manufacturer who's immune to issues.

No you are correct they are struggling for sure. I passed on a Bronco for the wife. Between the wind noise and the chance the engine would let go I couldn’t sink that much money in one but Toyota is struggling at this point as well trans, engine, axles etc. can’t anyone make a vehicle that won’t eat itself? I left GM due to trans issues with my Yukon. Bought a Tacoma and a Camry the same month just to be done with GM. I do like the raptor line…

I never said any were immune to issues. Some have more than others, and Toyota's are starting to pile up with the new Tundra and Tacomas. I just stated I would not buy a Bronco with all the eco boost issues, which you can easily look up. You decided to bring up the 342 mile Gen 4 transmission failing with a smart a$$ comment.

Trying to fit in with TW, where everyone is a complete asshole about everything. If I went off of what issues my friend/relative/neighbor/co-worker has on their X/Y/Z car, I doubt I'd ever buy a car again...

Guy at work put his Explorer in the shop the other week 3.O EB. 1st person I heard this from in person, only person with the Explorer that I know. I have heard of plenty other people mention issues on the 3.0. Heard of issues first hand on Expeditions, 2.7s had issues in the Broncos, and the previous issues on the 3.5. That's just the stuff anybody hears about, no telling what problems you don't hear about.

Everyone isn’t a complete asshole. Some are just part time. :D

On a different note, how is your Ranger doing? You digging it? Did you post pics?

    I am truckless now.

Hoping it can earn a Toyota pedigree. I won't be buying one until it does. But with a 2014 with 123k miles, a Tundra 4.7 with 197k, and a T100 with 174k, I doubt I'll be needing a new truck for a long time.

Ha ha, Ranger is at 2,6xx miles currently. On my 3rd transmission and 2nd engine so far. Here's the picture from the day I got it, haven't really had time to play with it much. No malls or parking lots anywhere unfortunately!

Power is great, best attribute. Quiet, no rattles, squeaks or anything either which is always scary on a refreshed/new gen model. Ranger forum is very slow, so I like to hang out here and talk trucks with you weirdos. Ya'll are still my people.

Good looking truck, though I do like the previous style a bit better.

That is a good looking truck! One of two colors I would want. I don’t remember what they call the bronze/brown color but it would be a tough choice for me.

Isn't there a member her who has 50 cars pr 50 years of cars, can't remember, but - they have NEVER one issue on any vehicle. Yeah, I do not believe it either.

All vehicles get a basic or severe issue now and then.
