Are you legitimately getting better milage because of the snorkel? I also have been wondering if that safari snorkel can be used with an aftermarket "box" style CAI....

Well, i'll be dipped in damn....i sure hope it does lol. Would be another reason to part with the money and go through the agony of cutting a hole in the fender lol.
I hope it is effective to both purposes the way he did it. I wouldn't want to sacrafice the truck breathing better just to be able to do water crossings and mud holes.

There was a thread that dealt with snorkels and mpg gains. I ran 285 duratracs before my snorkel and got 17-18 highway I then installed the snorkel and went to 33-12.5's and went down to about 14 lol. I'm now back at 285 duratracs and I'm getting 19-20 highway religiously

Which ones did you go with? I've been really beating myself up about swapping out my stock ones.

One of my favorite mods to date. Super easy to install and even though they aren't anything special they're nice to have.

there was nothing there before. you have to drill two holes per mount. ones on the hood are riveted and others have screws.

I'm an idiot....i opened my hood and realized that i there are just hinges. I remember seeing them on someone else's truck before....i only open my hood to change oil so i'm not under there often.
