When I bought mine it was with the understanding I was going to be transferred this summer to SoCal, well, as any of you know that are in the military, apparently SoCal now means Cape Cod Mass to my assignment officer. So I may be getting rid of my Prerunner just to replace it with a
    4x4 tacoma. It never ends!

I have a spread sheet made out with over $3000 in parts, accessories and mods I will be doing to here within the next half year, so I will be keeping this truck for a good couple of years. I want to wait to see both the new tacoma and also the hybrid truck (FTX...not the A-BAT) before I buy a new tacoma.

I will be keeping my truck for ever. Eventually it will be my toy truck to bang around on trails and endlessly keep modding. Well I know where my money pit is.

CAI, dynomax turbo exhaust system, tinted windows medium on the fronts to match the backs, hid kit hi and low beam, pop and lock tailgate, painted calipers red with caliper paint, put 2.25' leveling kit in front and a 1" block in the rear. its now level and rides WAY better (readylift)>way nicer than the revtek my buddy has i think its garbage imo<, hurst "T" shifter, 18 x 10 american racing (can't remember the name) chrome rims with badass 5 inch lip :), 12 inch rockford fosgate punch with rockford fosgate 600 watt amp, bushwacker fender flares (cheaper than replacing the one i wrecked lol) ,kc light bar with kc lights, toyota aluminum stamped skid plate, and a skull front license plate. More mods to come, thinking a 6 inch lift and arb bumper etc etc.
:D TELL YOU WHAT- Gents and ladies all i have to say is this truck you would have to kill me first before i give it up. Considering all the cool mods and money i will be dumping into it. HOWEVER- when i have a kid and he wants my truck ... ill be a hard ass and make him work his ass off and get the parts and truck himself. i will of course help but i will make him work for it just like my dad made me work for my truck, that way he'll have the character and respect that i have for my truck. and i will help him build it as well. Then when we our finished he will cherish that truck as much as i cherish mine ... who knows maybe more because it was a father son build. I'm only 22 right now and if you could only see the father son build my dad and i are doing on an 1952 "white" semi all i have to really say is thus - cummins engine 5.9 12 valve, cummins drivetrain and axles. custom 4linked front and rear, spooled front and rear. and alot more CUSTOM - IT makes it go faster :p . ( if there is enough interest on the "BIG WHITE" build i will post a thread and pictures. it is still being built. )

But thats how i see whats going to happen to my truck and if i do DIE, my wife or future son will get my truck end of.

I would like to keep mine forever. I would also like to get a Tundra once the Tacoma is paid for. I just want that V8 growl and 8 ft. bed again. By the time this is all paid off my son will be about ready to start driving. I can think of nothing better than a pickup to start driving in, that is the way it has always been in my family. : )

After a long 4+ years of payments the end is finally in sight, only 7 payments left. After that it finally belongs to me, and I plan on driving it until either it dies or I do.

I really wanted a 3rd gen 4runner with a manual transmission. The locker would have been nice too, but Toyota MIGHT have made one of them.

Figured the taco was the next best thing.

Now that I have crap welded to the frame as well as my own custom body lines thanks to trees, I'm guessing I'd get way less than its (mechanically) worth in a trade if I did find that Runner.

keeping it until i can justify getting a nice used 2011+ camaro SS

then i'll still keep it as a daily driver and junk mover and the camaro will become a weekedn toy.
