If it’s your first time, go easy inserting into your new Gasshole. May be a little tight. :D

Having difficulty trying to remove that friggin screw! Hit it with PB blaster first, tried an impact with #3 screw driver. For those that used vice grips how did you do it? The vice grips have to be positioned top to bottom and then there is no way to turn the screw as the clip is in the way.

Your right. I had the same problem with the vise grips. Ended up drilling the screw out.

Vice grip will break it free, just needs to turn a few degrees... after that, screwdriver finishes the job no problem

Got my order and managed to finally remove the screw ... ended up stripping the head and using a large drill bit to drill the head off. That left enough of a stump that I was able to grab it with vice-grips and easily remove it. From what I could tell, the screw was bound up with tension on the head, because once that stress was relieved, the threaded portion was actually just finger tight.

Anyway... yup, my '05 has the older style cap which doesn't really work, so I'll be interested in seeing how notching the Gass-Hole works for others facing the same issue.

Thanks, but it's a no go. Barely enough room trying to get the grips in there and now the head of the screw is rounded out. Even tried a screw out but now there is just a cone shaped indentation. Oh well, I tried.

I was in the same boat ... EZ-Outs didn't work. Using a 1/4" or so drill bit, I drill straight into the cone left by the EZ-Out. Do it right, and you'll create a weak spot where the head will basically fall off. Then I just worked the clip over the stump that was left behind and used pliers to remove the rest. I honestly think I could've removed it with my fingers... was very very loose. I had a zinc-coated button-head bolt that I used to replace it.

Just tried this using a 1/4" drill bit and the head of the screw did come off. However I've got a new problem, the threaded bolt is now sitting flush with the gas door, so there is nothing to even grip to finish with pliers or vise grips. I've tried to push the bolt through towards the back thinking the nut and threaded shaft would just fall out, but it looks like the nut is welded on. Is the only step left to drill completely through the bolt?
