Are you hauling a Dodge Challenger on the back of the 2.7 liter Tacoma??? How does it tow? Does it tow it pretty decent?

I hear ya loud and clear on that. I worked for UPS for a while. I'm now at Fedex, been for 23 years. I had both knees done. Torn meniscus. Now I have back problems, can't wait to retire. If I stayed at UPS I'd be retired already.

Anyone pull plugs yet? As much as I bought brand new to not have ta worry/wrench anymore I can't help it my brain is in the combustion chamber everytime something seems a little off wanting to know if it's running to lean or too rich? Swear it's got a strange misfire type feeling intermittently.

I sprayed mine down today, due to the road salt. I love a clean engine bay. The consensus is that in a snow/salt environment, things rot away pretty quickly. I’m fully not going to let that happen. My 01 is a CA truck, people out here in the northeast are shocked how pristine it is for being 18 years old. Honestly, I think with vigilance, I can do the same in this environment. I’ve mentioned mavcoat in other threads... I came across this stuff back in the day when protecting raw steel on builds where components weren’t going to see powder coat. Out here, I’ve built a bedcage and left it raw (love the look) and coated it in the stuff. I’m not planning on fluid film, it’s a fucking mess. Mavcoat just looks like a dull haze and doesn’t collect grime. So that’s the plan, keep things salt free and coated. Anyway I’m stoked on the clean engine bay and how nice the 2.7 looks. I remember when I was considering a 6cyl, and I looked under the hood and it looks like a transformer vomited all up in it and put a plastic cover on top of the engine to hide it. Even remember thinking if I bought one I would toss that cover. I hate those things.

Besides feeling like it was going to rip the back half of the truck off, it did ok.

It actually did way better than I thought, 1st gear is way to high. On inclines it called for extra clutch work. And on the twisty mountain roads, I was in Low range. But considering I didn't think it would even budge the 7,200lb load it did better than expected. Plus I didn't tow it very far. But if it was all flat roads, and you had good trailer brakes, I think it would be fine.

These things are build better than 90's half tons, and in some countries are equivalent to a semi.
