:gossip: don't do the center caps That's what bored teenagers with no money or aesthetic sense do, then they huff the rest of the propellant in the rattlecan.

image.jpg I've mentioned before I have a mint set of these 4 runner wheels with new OEM center caps that I waiting to put on. I'm going to leave them stock. In my opinion it's the nicest Toyota Wheel for our trucks. I have a sale pending on the other 16" 4Runner style wheel that I originally wanted to go with but sadly they don't fit second gen. So I went with this one after seeing it in this awesome Build thread! Thanks again Nick!

Thanks. Like Crom mentioned there's the Hyper silver wheel that came standard on the limited 4Runner, and they had regular sliver for SR5's and T100's.
H&H wheels and caps run a deal on 4 wheels but call for availability on the limited. Crom got a good deal on his spare from the place he purchased from.

I have a set of SCS Ray10s waiting to go on. If I didn't have those, these would be the ones for my truck.

One of the reason I like the TRD wheels is how well they hold the tire bead when aired down.

I almost kept the ones off my 01, but since I got rid of the original TRD alloys from the 01, I would have had to swap the 15 OR alloys onto the first gen to get it sold. Which I could have done. But I wasn't so sure the 4runner 5 stars in that silver would look so great on the Silver Sky Metallic. I thought about getting them powder coated MGM like the ones I posted above. But it was just too much to bother with when I had my first kid about to pop last summer, and even finding and buying the 15 and selling the 01 was quite enough endeavor for me at the time.

But the 5-star were in perfect shape. I got them from another member here in San Diego for $130, my BIL picked them up and drove them to Norcal because he was coming up anyway, and all I had to do was refurbish the plastic centers caps, which always weather and lose their paint.

Gratuitous photo, with my slightly too small but not yet worn out awesome Michelin LTX AT2 265/70 16s

Everyone gave you excellent advice. I spray painted my wheels black and I love the look against my silver paint, but the paint chips fairly easily (I didn't do a clear coat). Offroad travel makes short work of the paint. I would only PC if I did it again.

I've been eyeballing some of those.

No maybe late next week, then paint.

I'm just trying to get work done whenever my schedule will allow.

I might cut my bedsides tomorrow. Want to see if my wife will notice. lol

@teamhypoxia Can't wait for when it's installed to hear my wife's comments. Probably in line with what yours said when you did yours. lol :D
