Dammit man. I changed the oil/filter yesterday, and started pulling out the stock leafs. Got the airbags off and one leaf pack before realizing I needed a set of bushing sleeves for the expo springs. Lurry was using greasable bolts with no sleeves, I should have known to get a set

No bags, non-TSB pack w/ 1.5" AAL. About 250 lbs. in the bed. The front was jacked up, it is not at ride height in this pic

:woot: got the expo springs installed this evening with no issues, only took me a couple hours and a few beers.

I know, you don't have to tell me. But , you're truck inspired me a lot to do a 4wd conversion. As long as you don't plan on selling it soon. I like to go back and forth between the 4runner and taco when I get bored with one.

How do you like pulling your runner with the taco? Im looking at making my truck a trail rig/rare DD and getting either a 2nd gen to pull it or a tundra. I know the tundra would likely do better but id like to have the 2nd gen to build armor for to expand my market as well so just curious if its worth it to tow with it or just go for the bigger option

I don't plan on towing my '87 as often, because it is a lot of work for the tacoma and living in the foothills. It doesn't have the power to get up steep hills. I would have bought a tundra if I knew I would be towing a trail rig. It would help if I kept it stock though.

Whatever I get ill purposely get it 2wd and plan to keep it stock other than maybe wheels/aggressive stock size tires. If it weren't for the fact of wanting to have a base truck to build armor from id just go with a diesel of some sort. I may go with the tundra though.. Guess ill shop around and see what I can find

Don't get me wrong it does the job, and I should have left it stock. But I don't know how to do that :p. I do plan on regearing to hopefully help, that's why I haven't started the 4wd conversion yet.

Just figure out how much your 1st gen and trailer will weigh, and look at getting a larger transmission cooler.

I had already planned with my GF to visit Asheville. Her family has a camper in chimney rock, so it was a fairly cheap trip for us :D

That's how the oversize tire kit mounts up front, comes with all that hardware.
