    There are several things that can cause static. The most common is the coax cable for the antenna. The cable should always be in lengths of 3ft ie, 6ft, 9ft, 12ft etc. Also do not wrap the extra length in a circle like a garden hose. if you must lay the cable back on itself then do so in the largest loop possible. Another common cause will be interference. Make sure that you do not run the cable next to any other power wire like a amp or stereo power wire. After you have checked those issues you may need to check your SWR's. This is how you calibrate the antenna itself. There are meters that you can by that installs between the cb and the antenna. This also requires a tunable antenna though. If those options do not work hit us back up here.
    Thanks guys. I'll be checking all of these things when I replace the steering stabilizers. They have been leaking for a while. I know that is not the cause of the problem but it does help control the problem from what I've read.
    What happened to the tent? The awning looks so lonely by it's self there ;)
