Buy one of the cheap ones, from Amazon. It is a great value, for the price. I have dropped, driven over and submerged mine.....nothing has gone wrong, yet.
I recorded the "pit" videos with that camera.......the quality is darn good.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
    I have a Hero 4 black. It's pretty awesome.

I've dropped it on a bike ride before. Only the case was scuffed. It still worked.

But if you want to save some $$$, check out the other ones like Oscar pointed out.

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
I will have something for you from him also.
I have the Hero 4 Silver. The only difference between mine and David's is his can shoot in 4K. I'm not running anythingthat can display that yet so I figured I'd save some money. If you were to get a GoPro then I suggest in getting one with the display on the back so you can verify what your recording right there on the device itself. That was a big selling point for me when I was looking at the different models. You can also use your phone as a monitor which is nice also. With the GoPro app you can watch/control up to 50 cameras at the same time. I went with GoPro because of this option as I will eventually have one on each corner of the truck to use as a spotter when none is available.

There are plenty of other options or there at lesser price points but I am unaware of any other manufacturers that offer that kind of integration amongst multiple cameras. I may be wrong, and if I am I'm sure someone on here will correct me

If you're looking for more of "traditional" video camera, then the silver may be better because of the monitor in the back. You can run the footage through GoPro studio to make the videos pretty quickly.

If you're looking at doing more "professional" videos where you'll probably use a video editor such as premiere or final cut, then the 4K may be a better option.

You can adjust the ISO, which is kinda like night vision. But not really.
