Great pictures! Another amazing looking trip with friends. I’ve thought about getting a 4x4 van for family road trips. It looks like it did well. Thank you for sharing your adventures.

GREAT PICTURES! My finger was getting tired from clicking like so much. I officially need better friends. I like all the vehicles, but that van stands out for some reason. Thanks for the motivating pics to get out and do it, something, anything.

Well that's probably due to a couple things. For one, you're a good spotter, who knows the priority is the task at hand, the photos in the moment are secondary. The second thing was being in awe the van actually did what it did. I'm sure you have a few shots though in the rougher stuff than I do. Those are important for bragging rights of course.

It surprised us all really. I would like to say it was the skill of the driver, but I would hazard a guess that the vans quite capable, although very slow.
It stands out because it's so big  hard to miss it. We came down a narrow shelf road that was fairly technical and halfway down I looked over to see some campers had their phones out taking pictures of the spectacle!

I actually would like to hear about the writing on the walls. Is it real? I'm assuming it is, how old is it? How did it survive time and weather?

The write up would be pretty boring to be honest. It would look something like this:
"We went to REDACTED and it was awesome. We camped that night at REDACTED and it was great company. The next morning we went to REDACTED and the views were incredible." and then repeat that 7 times  I am beyond the point of publicly identifying specific locations unfortunately.

In general, you know I agree with you and don't share coordinates/tracks. Those locations you guys visited with the rock art are well known though, so you don't need to worry about sharing them.

I especially like the "typical shaman" photo you took. (that's the actual name for that specific framing of that location)

Of all the photos, I think this was the one that got an audible reaction from me (a good chuckle). Loved it!

They are common knowledge to an extent, but there are no free rides here, people still need to do their own research. Or they can be lazy like me and follow their friends who mapped it out :anonymous:

And yes, one of my favorites, i think his patience was thin stuck behind the big slow van for days

Was SUCH a bummer to miss this. I especially wanted to see Ben, since I've not seen him in quite a while.

As luck would have it, there was another trip I'd planned with another "random dude from the internet" about a month before this trip was scheduled, and I'd been trying to hook up with this guy (to find a very specific bit of rock art) for just over a year. Otherwise, I'd have loved to have gotten together for this.

I mean, takes one to know one, I guess :luvya:

What are the dates of the next one? And to where? Didn't Zane mention that Mike was gonna create a thread? Did Mike mention that he was getting on that soon around your guys camp fires too? ;)

Hey your name came up on our journey actually. The debate was regarding if you had a white truck out of it at one point and sold the motor out of it. Ring a bell?
