The Great SWR Meter Pass Around

Antenna mount to a good metal ground. Ill try to find a picture of mine

 

Here's mine with the washer stack in the pic

 

Sweet mines the same just I'll make a cable to jump my ground for a little more connection

 

I grounded my hood to vehicle ground with separate wire to ensure good ground. Mine is mounted up front. Remember the antenna does not get grounded. Watch the videos from right channel radio.

 

@Pirhett I will take it when you are done. My new radio will be here in a couple days and I need to get it tuned before the expo and moab

Wait never mind. I just brought It up in the expo thread. And apparently someone going has one he will bring out. I guess there are about 4 of us that need one so we will just use that one at camp and get us all squared away. But thanks!

Real fast guys,
Trying to double check my swr after using a longer screw in the tip of the antenna. Then I tightened my spring and it made a pop, now when I check my swr that was in the 1.5-2.0 range it is over 3 way past the red line. What did I do and can it be fixed
Please help!

 

Pretty sure the antenna is broken...

 

Sounds like you might have pulled the threads out of it, or something else snapped internally. Maybe turn down the tightness from dutch farmboy to interior decorator.

I have the meter now and will be tuning some antennas in nj... Anyone in line for it next?
