My roommate eats the shit out of peanut and apple butter sammiches. Actually now I think he just eats straight out of the jars, no bread.

 

i think applebutter would get too messy with jelly. maybe if you mixed it before spreading? i would like to know as i am allergic to peanuts

 

I was thinking apple butter instead of jelly. You must have messed up bad in your past life to be allergic to peanuts.

 

Almond butter, cashew butter, walnut butter, sunflower seed butter...

My wife makes my sammiches. They taste better that way.

This triple decker pb&j is damn brilliant. I have got to try this

 

Crunchy PB both with honey. Sometimes I eat them open faced.

Smooth PB is for people on a diet.

That 3 layer sounds delicious.

 

I eat smuckers sugar free and extra crunchy jif on lavash wraps.

If I may interdict here you are all incorrect on the best PB&J Samnich. Clearly a tripple decker is preferred as described. But on the PB side a thick sliced banana is required. And Apple Jelly is by far the best to add to this combination, followed by grape and then strawberry. Sometimes i go completely wild and use toast instead of bread, which i guess is still bread but a more delicious form as it makes the PB runny and more delicious

 

I'm late to the party, but I'm sitting here wondering how I've lived 48 yrs and never had the triple decker PB&J as described by Jake.

I agree with the banana and you list of which in better. But what do you do when you run out of jelly... I put nutella on it.

 

One side if I shall be eating the sandwich immediately after making it, But if I shall be traveling and said sandwich shall be eaten later, then I PB both sides for insulation of the wet jelly.

 

I don't run out of jelly. If I do ever encounter such an unfortunate situation however I suppose I would try some fresh fruit
