I have a question.. what's wrong with putting the spare In stock location or In the bed ? I never understood the idea behind a truck with a bumper tire carrier .. wouldnt it kill departure angle even more ?

So i replaced my tire carrier under the bed of the truck an i put a 5 gallon air tank mounted in that place( most guys do if you have on bored air) an in the bed it takes up a lot of room when i go camping its a small truck an it holds my high lift so i have more room for other things

    Gives you 15PSI On boost.

But on a serious note, most aftermarket tires won't fit in the stock location. I myself, have two 5 gal tanks linked togther for my OBA in that spot and don't even have a spare yet, but I am working on my rear carrier for when I get it. Like OP said, takes up too much room in the back and if you put it on the roof like the jeeps at the mall, have fun bringing a 75 pound tire off the now top heavy shit box.

Thanks for the shots, the bumper looks great! I really like the highjack mount. Just from the pictures it looks like you have mounted the bumper to the stock bumper hangers that then bolt to the frame. Have you found that it's strong enough to take a good beating?

I'm thinking of incorporating my tow hitch right into the center of the bumper i'll fab and using that to winch from (I have a hitch in my bull bar and rear).

    Thanks,

    -Tom
