Ya that’s dressing and the one with bread is stuffing. My grams was southern so we did a hybrid of the two which I really liked.

I made some for the first time on camera last week and it was just crumbled cornbread, shredded chicken breast, a can of cream of chicken and chicken broth until everything is wet enough to kind of combine a little. Some people put celery and onion in it, but I didn't, and I hit it with dried sage just till I could taste it (the great thing about this is you can taste as you go cuz everything is already cooked) I did mine in the crockpot and used a heatgun to crust the top over but if you bake it in a dish you wouldn't have to.

Gravy is not dressing... So I'm quite confused by your previous statement... I would be perfectly content with a plate full of dressing, I would throw a plate full of gravy at someone if that's all there was tho

How the hell is cornbreas casserole with chicken called “dressing” that makes no sense. But damn does it sound good.

I'm not sure but its everything that Yankees try and have stuffing be but fail each and every year. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet and amirite?

Ya being a southern food person and all I don’t like it. Don’t like the texture and not real fond of the taste. I make my grams recipe with bread and corn bread in it. That’s some good stuff.

Skynyrd for the win. And prefer shredded dark meat turkey on my cornbread stuffing personally :p

Dressing and stuffing are the same. Same brothers from a different mother.

I prefer to smoke my turkeys on the rotisserie (keeping with the name of this thread) but it is cold. Colder than normal. Been smoking them on a spinning stick for at least 15 years. Don't like the cold and pissing your name in the snow was good at first, but now is old. As am I.

Sons don't like dark meat, must be their mother's influence and she is gone now. I like dark meat so deconstructed a turkey tonight dark meat for me, they will get the breast meat.

Instant Pot pulls through once again. Thighs and legs with carrots, onions, celery, some thyme from the plant I have and natures seasoning. And apple cider and water.

    ip dark done.jpg

Pulled the meat off and used the baster to add some broth. I will throw it in the oven when the breast is almost done tommorow. Could have used the crockpot but the IP did it in a LOT shorter time.

    dark meat done store.jpg

Everything else giblets, backbone, left over bones and meat is in the stockpot. And will go all night on simmer for Turkey stock tommorow.

    stock pot night begin.jpg

I love the IP it takes the crockpot concept to a whole new level. But a stockpot is also still a requirement in my world. Best way to make Turkey stock for gravy and that cornbread stuffing that I know. Ohhh come on some of you don't really use white bread croutons for stuffing do you?!? Damn bet you eat white instant rice instead of wild Mn. rice too :p

Pepperidge Farm seasoned stuffing mix; plus mushrooms, onions, eggs, butter, sage, thyme s&p, chicken broth. Haven't done a turkey in quite a few years - wife is a vegetarian and I can't eat all of even the smallest turkey. 'heavy sigh'
