    HREW works too..

DOM is great; but I can get HREW for $1.50 a foot..

Wrapping this up tomorrow; $120 in materials. Ben, any ideas for a Hi-Lift mount? This is going to interfere with my bed-rail - where I had it mounted previously..

Have you noticed a change in stability with that weight up high? I was a little on the fence about making it such a high rack... although I knew that I wanted to be able to comfortably get underneath the tent to store things.. Kind of difficult when you're 6' 2"..

Hmm.. contemplating chopping it down tomorrow..

Not sure, yet. Not really a huge job, although - I'd hate to want to lower it later after its painted up..

Yup, I'm impressed. Took a little while to get the parameters dialed in, the settings recommended are a little cold for me..

Need to get over my habit of tacking without a hood on. UV sunburn.

Eh, think I'm going to run with it at that height for a little while and see how I like it. Not a huge deal to cut it down, just section it on the verticals and butt weld. Think I might be over analyzing the height thing.

Not like I'll be going on a trip with an empty bed, anyways..

Yeah, monte rolled his truck with RTT on top, but I didn't hear what the circumstances were. I won't be doing anything that off camber as I'll have gracie and amanda in the truck. I'll be finding a different line.

No I didn't roll with a RTT on the truck.

It also won't be about avoiding off camber areas cause some times that's impossible but situations that normally wouldn't be an issue will become one.

But your a longer wheel base so who knows might be different.

Definitely going to be lowering my rack when I've got time; a little bunged up for a couple weeks... picked up a nasty leg infection while I was out in Montana.

Back on topic: The higher rack really had a huge effect on my mileage. More importantly, I don't like the way it makes the truck handle at all. The ass end is much more "squirrely". Did a few trails, found that the back end really wanted to start to come around much sooner than it does without the high rack. Definitely felt in on the few off camber spots that I encountered; and reverse most certainly was not an option. It's all a learning curve, but - I know I'm not happy/feel safe with that amount of weight up high.

    Just my input.

I think my long wheel base must have a pretty decent effect on it because it's really never been an issue for me. That being said I'm one of the least self aware people I know so I could just be ignoring it. :notsure:
