    I have had to cut 3 different trucks all the studs broke loose my 4.5" angle grinder worked just fine .

    I might have had to move the guard around and I never have handles on those little grinders

    Quite possible if you had a really tiny model and plumbed your airline in at 90 degrees

    Remember those studs are in the bracket welded to the frame it is clearance between the inner fender and the top of the bracket in the vertical plane

    This thread touches my soul..I just finished my install yesterday, that thing is the devil!. I had that very same impossible nut. Except it was the inside one next to the frame. Where no tool could go. I PB blasted and wire brushed and rocked it back and for for a week with a 6 point wrench before install day. I finally got I to crack loose just the tiniest bit, the day before install. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy I whooped so loud. Well...fool me once. I spent 2 solid hours, turning that nut about 1/16 of a turn. And every 1/16 turn took every thing I could muster. And that’s after torching the shit out of it. The threads were so gobbed up with rust, it almost put the kabosh on the whole operation. I kept that nut. I had to cut out my LCA’s with a sawzall. But I kept that Stupid. Fucking. 14mm nut. I’m going to glue it to my dash as an eff you, I got ‘er done type of thing.8C555D22-0C1C-4085-9E5A-529BDCB706B3.jpg

    The beauty of living in the north east is these bolts don’t have time to seize up, they just rot away...along with whatever they were holding.

    @Taco302

    Lots of good ideas been proposed. i saw somebody say "nutsplitter", so in case you don't have one, here is a link.

    Also, 50% acetone/auto trans fluid works better than commercially available stuff for loosening. Heat first, then while metal is expanded, apply. Cant be too hot or you just evaporate the acetone.

    A reciprocating saw (sawzall) with a 10-12" blade can sometimes get into places like that.

    BTW, I notice you are from a famous town...sorry, couldn't resist

    ugh, this thread reminds me that my front struts top nuts look like this too. I'm gonna cry when the time will come to replace them...

    I think I'll just cut them off. Will be easier and quicker... :annoyed::sawzall:

    Oh yes, Fluid Film is magic... But previous owner of my truck certainly didn't know or bother about using this
    So I have to deal with stubborn rusty nuts or bolts sometimes :(

    Hey Dan, how many watts is the one you bought? I am thinking about using stimulus money. I want to spend it on something made in USA to help get people back to work.

    Saw this Inductive Innovations 1000W US made version, and I am thinking about buying it.

    Their "full size" doesn't say how many watts so I was suspicious they were getting that 1000W figure out there to let people know maybe this one is smaller than others.

    Also, I assume the extra elements are probably a necessary item, no?

    I have the raptor. I’d have to check what the wattage is on it when I’m at work tomorrow
