It didnt happen right away. As time went on i started to hear the noise. I also have trd skid plate with rci trans skid. Some people also said that could be making the noise when compressed or turning in at a angle.

I went to Fastenal and they only have a non-flanged M14x1.5
Is a flange bolt necessary or can I use a bolt with washer combo?

I was hoping to see if I could get something local to me before going the online route.

Also from the looks of it, the yellow zinc version is OOS, and only Black Oxide is in stock. My experience with Black Oxide is that they will eventually rust.

Now to come to think of it, I have only heard a constant paced clicking noise when I got myself into a bit of a bind(no pun intended!!!!) and the 4WD had to be used in a super tight spot to turn around. At one point, I said, “I’m going for it as I was in deep sand. For the entire turn to head back out the trail, I heard a constant paced clicking noise. It hasn’t happened since.

Not quite a clunk. It’s more of a click. Your problem has to be the sway bar links/bushings. I get a clunk too. That’s my next swap.

Check yours to make sure they are not loose.

I’ve gone back to EVERY spot I could ‘member and no click anymore. Man, what a rush. Feels like a new truck again feeling.

I even tried the KMET ROCKERS ( showing my age!!!! Ahahahaa) at Hungry Valley. Good stuff, but will post in the future if any changes arise. However, them other hometowns that did the mod have not come across any issues. :fingerscrossed:

I did not reuse. Don't remember right now but almost positive the washer on the stock bolt does not come off.

It’s a tough one to diagnose tbh. I was thinking it was a ball joint. But I’ve learned that the “click” sound is the bottom bushing sleeve hitting the bolt. So a “clunk” sound has to be a bad ball joint(s). That sound is more aggressive. $25+ I can’t recall, but the Belmetric bolt is the ticket. McMaster Carr has one also, but it’s not treated for corrosion(?). Black oxidized.
