Btw, the stock bushing failed at 12,000 miles if I recall correctly. The bad part was, the times I took the Taco soon thereafter…every time I took it to a dealer, it never made the sound:frusty:

I just gave up and lived with it until it was time to do something about it. It kills the Sunday drive.

Yea, I’ll take a look at the parts. Thanks!

Mine is like a ding/click for certain speed bumps and for entrances of driveways/parking lots.

So annoying. I paid one dealership $100 to tell me it was dented factory skids plates. Paid another dealership $150 to tell me it was my aftermarket sliders. In both cases I showed them video. Upgraded to 6112's and never heard it again. It was something in those shocks.

I guess I was lucky enough that my FIL used to work at the same dealer so I was getting free checks at the time.

Sorry about that brother! I didn’t see your post. I put 5100’s in the rear. The stock hitachis have bushings.

How long has it been since the switch to 6112’s? I also thought it could be the shocks, but the wear on the bolt says a lot. You should protect your investment and get the Belmetric bolts/washers/nuts. It’s not a heavy hit in the wallet.

I'm about 6,000 miles in so far. No clicking anymore. Fingers crossed.

I bought the new bolts from 303 suspension. Used the stock washers. I just wanted to be sure I got the right ones. They were pretty long, but worked fine. I jacked the front of the truck up and started punching out the stock bolt. I noticed that my extended king's still had tension on the bolt... Quick search here and found people having the same issue. I took a small jack I had(but I would think you could use your truck's spare jack). Put it on the tire, put a 4x4 on the fender sheet metal and slightly jacked down the tire, it worked perfectly and I was able to push the suspension arms down slightly to freely remove and replace the bolts. DO IT!!! Dont ruin your King bearings! Suggest a friend helps hold the other side while you torque, if your leaving your wheels on. I just stuck another socket on the other side and spun it until it hit the wheel or suspension so I could torque the nuts...

I am really glad threads like this pop up, as my truck's front end started to make a clicking sound over small bumps at low speeds, and I thought it was something in the steering, as I could feel it slightly in the steering wheel.

Anyway, I found Toyota already makes the bolt to correct this problem on our trucks, we just have to look in the 5th gen 4Runner parts catalog! Here are the part numbers that I bought (if you want, you do not have to buy new washers and nuts, the ones from your truck will work as well):
    20230514_112549.jpg

The bolts are the same thread and pitch (M14x1.5) and total length is a little over 70mm long (I measured with my calipers around 72mm). They also have the full 14mm diameter shank like the aftermarket bolts as well (unlike our factory bolts).

Here is a picture of them installed:
    20230514_112556.jpg

I am quite happy buying them, as the noise over small bumps is now gone, and the bolts/nuts head size match the originals (19mm), so no need to find different size sockets to remove them!

Great find especially since the bolts from belmetric are out of stock and we can reuse our nut/washer thanks

Damnit! I wish I had gotten these instead due to the bolt sizes being the same as stock. How much were they?

That’s why you just go to your local dealer and pick them up!

Wait, isn't that a lower control arm cam bolt?

I paid a little over $25 with shipping (a little over $15 for the hardware, but tax and shipping suck)
from a local dealer (they have no way to pick up, so I had to get them shipped, even though they are about 25 minutes away from me!).
Nope, he has the right part number, but when I was researching prices online, some dealers listed them like they are cam bolts, but they are not, just a flanged bolt. Here is picture of the bolt from partsouq.com:
