It’s actually on my list of things to do.

The third gens are actually pretty damn quiet from the factory, but it can always be improved upon.

It's on my list too, just want to retain more of the sound from the stereo. Feel like a lose I lot of the bass in the doors.

38k on mine, although I’ve only rotated them 3-4 times so not ideal. If I can get 50k out of this set I’ll be happy.

Shit at 45k I probably still have about half tread. Remind me and I'll measure tomorrow compared to the spare

I need to measure mine but I think I’m around 1/2” of tread remaining.

The 285/75/17's are a really good size. There right at the size of 25's but a bit more narrow. No fender trimming I'm just not up to a regear

I would stick with the pizza cutters. They’re a great size for just about everything.

If they weren’t so much more $$ I’d run them instead of 285’s.

My 255/80's have worked flawlessly in any condition I have put them in. I guess just because I'm older and we used to have really wide tires I always seem to want something bigger. The 285/75's are a compromise but super performing size almost a 35 but skinnier almost like a tall skinny.

They are 34.06” tall and 11.1” section width according to their website. Not bad.

    35’s aka 315/70/17’s are 34.57” tall and 12.8” wide.

I see what you’re saying now.

Will it work for a 3rd gen w/o a body lift?

Edit - I’ll ask Gary if the 2nd and 3rd gens are the same.

If it doesn't, just get a 2nd gen

Info - 2nd gen no body lift.

I can’t really think of a reason why they’d be different. Let me see what he says, and if they are the same I’ll PM you.

A little of this and a little of that.
Big shout out to @ovrlndkull for coming in on the clutch with the help yesterday. A few minor hiccups, but nothing that kept us from knocking out a solid days work.

The ride into work was friggin mint, bud! Of course speedo is off (~72-3mph dash = 80mph @2.1K RPM's +/- 25ish). Steering was slightly stiffer than normal, but still smooth. Nominal body roll/sway, almost negligible actually. Feels good and planted under current conditions. I'm surprised, I haven't felt a largely noticeable change when accelerating under a broad load range.

A buddy up here I work on these things with put them on his truck. They ake some clearancing with a full CMC, beat the pinch weld flat, get rid of most of the plastics in the wheel well, even a ittle hammering on the firewall I believe, but he did not have to remove the flares or trim the fenders and his truck is very flexy. Granted this is a 2nd gen perhaps a 3rd gen would require less. When he put these on his truck a couple of years ago Cooper didn't make the Maxx's in this size so I believe these are Nitto Terra Grapplers

He did end up doing a regear to 4:56's said he wish he'd have gone 4:88's but also an automatic. This is the part that concerns me I just can't afford tht expense especially rtight now. My thinking is 4:30's with a LSD in the rear would be just about right for my needs but I really have no idea.
