    I forgot how much welding hacking and fabrication was until I did my 63 swap so on the chopping block is finding a shop space, getting a welder and some other fabrication tools and really start doing some cool stuff.

    Is the stroke of the dampener long enough? I would be concerned with it carrying all the weight of the tailgate if it is too short. Looks great though. I'd do it.
