IDk if you can get a DCLB in a sport but Skip's isn't a sport unless he changed the hood but I don't believe so

Mine's a DCLB Sport. 15's only come in that config with the sport package. (To my knowledge anyway, I understand Skip's isn't a 15 tho.)

Offroads have the ATRAC. SR's don't have either I believe.

You can get a DCLB in SR, SR5, or sport in the 2nd gen
Mine's an SR5 thank you very much

In the later yrs. They came with that fancy electronic gizmos to help with traction Brad's old DCLB Sport had some of it.

Same, and I love it. Only nanny is ABS and I put in a kill switch for that. You should do it, it's extremely easy.

Yellow wire mod allows my AutoLSD and TRAC to engage in 4HI/LO so it's a poor man's locker. It applies the brake to the spinning wheel so the grounded one gets the power.

Normally those get automatically disengaged in 4LO, right?

I don't have near the issue that you have with yours my rarely activates. Unless I really lock the brakes down hard. But I also am light on the pedal and pulse it myself probably before it has time to activate. Offroading I 2 foot drive.

Gotcha yeah I saw that actually work for @BravesTaco but in some cases it hindered him as well it's a fine balance with that stuff.

I'm over manuals. All but 4-6 of my vehicles were manuals. I'm getting old and lazy plus offroading it seems better to have an auto.

The only time I wish I had an auto while offroad is in rock gardens, from the constant climbing and dropping. It's annoying feathering the clutch, trying to get up over something, then come falling down the backside. That's why I'd love a crawl box. I am getting better though. Other than that, I love the control, especially while descending, that a manual offers.

Yeah your 1st gear ratio definitely has better engine braking. I am constantly dropping mine into 1st and still having to tap the brakes downhill. You should see Grant wheel his JK he had us fooled for almost the whole weekend with how well he drives that thing. I don't think I could wheel with a manual unless it's hill climbs only.

Have you looked into a heavier flywheel and different clutch set up supposedly that helps a lot.

I haven't, my first step will be to regear since that'll make my overall gearing a bit lower. After that I'll delve into more advanced stuff.
