My rooted Motorola Atrix can do this:
Debian linux with full open office, full Gimp, xterm, xfce4, full mozilla Ice Weasel (firefox). All resident on the phone.

 

I would say that's probably correct. I'm not sure if it would allow you both to use the device (you watching direct TV and her watching it as well). Probably one remote user.

 

anyone know of an app that uses the data plan for text messaging? preferably a free one or up to a $5 flat rate

Don't know if this has already been thrown out there but you can make free ringtones and now text tones from your phone. All you have to do is have the song and then open the app ( called RingtoneMaker) and then choose a 30 second snip of it, email it to yourself then open it up from you laptop/desktop and open with iTunes, sync and you now have a new ringtone. Kind of a long process but hell it's free.

 

tried this one....not liking how it gives me a complete different phone number...is there a way around that?

nike + app is good for tracking running..the one from the app store, not the native one..it was like $2. i use it for biking and its very accurate.

i don’t know if any of you know this. but i just noticed that you can make you’r clock a 24h clock. idk if it new or what. i found it after i updated my phone witch took like 1h. lol

 

I use Imapmyride

I use it for biking but I think there is a setting for running as well. It uses google maps to track your route and it is very accurate.

 

So i just put a LifeProof case on my new Iphone 4S.

Its freaking dope. I listened to music in the shower, lol.

and i take my macbook in their and just set it by the sink. lol

 

The lifeproof case is suprisingly thin. It feels really well built and locks together with a very firm snap.

I dropped it in my sink this morning to check it out. Im really bad at underwater angry birds.

and then i dropped it on the floor by accident too. This case is freaking awesome.

 

whats the best app for listening to local am/fm radio stations?

got my case today! i tested it like it says. put my phone in it. i had it in the hot tub. lol touch screen does not work well at all under water. but i dropped it in the water a few times. video chatted with a friend. so far could not be more happy. and i think i’m more happy than i would be if i got a otterbox. and it’s smaller than an otterbox.
