You can buy the belt clip separate, can also get a mount for bike handlebars. Might be doing this soon.

true. i was saying it did not come with it. you can still get it but i did not get anything extra. i don’t use belt clips. i ordered case and thats it. only thing it came with was the adapter for headphones. and a little cloth to wipe down the screen.

    So is this possible:

I have an iPad 2 with 3G/wireless. It has it's own phone number but can only use it's native messaging app to text other iOS devices. I also have an iPhone 4, which of course allows texting to any device using SMS or MMS.

Is there anyway I can have the iPad act as a client of the iPhone and the iPhone do the sending and receiving of text? There should be a setting in the iPad messaging app that allows it to forwarding to and from the iPhone for a texting session. Texting would be much easier for me on the larger keypad.

    Thanks for your help.

For accessories all I have is some sort of matte screen protector and a Magpul field case for protection.

For iTunes store apps I use.

Netflix - Can add/remove movies from your DVD and streaming ques as well as watch streaming movies.

    Pandora - Streaming internet radio.

iBooks - Easy to use catalog of ebooks and PDF files.

    Imageshack - Imageshack mobile uploader.

PayPal - Easy way to send money while on the move.

Keyring - Rewards/loyalty card app that allows you to take those little plastic keyring tabs off.

White & Yellow Pages - Searches both the white and the yellow pages.

AroundMe - Search for all sorts of things using your phone location services. (Found the closest UrgiCare center while on vacation when my two year old started acting sick two thousand miles away from home.)

Stars - Displays the 88 constellations in the sky. Just touch the screen and see the universe.

Alarm Clock - Easy to use alarm clock with heaps of added features.

Convert Units - Easy to use app that lets you convert any unit of measure into another unit of measure saving lots of head scratching.

Speedtest Mobile Speed Test - Determine what your current data speed is with broadband or WiFi.

The Weather Channel - Weather app works pretty much the same as their website.

Teamviewer - This app does tons for you. If you have family members that rely on your for tech support then you get them to install the free PC app on their computer and you can log into their PC and determine what the issue is and fix it yourself. Want to work in MS Office applications? You can do it. I've even played flash based games on my home PC via my iPhone with this just to test the flash capable claim.

Dropbox - Cloud storage of anything that you want. You can keep it private or share it with friends and family. You can have the free 2 gig account and then use your referal to turn your friends onto it to get a total of 16 gig of free cloud storage. Use the link I provided and each of us gets 500 mb of free storage added to our account. Subscription services available but very few of us actually need that much more cloud storage space. Wife keeps iPhone and iPad compatible movies in hers so she or the boy can watch them when they want while we are on the move.

XE Currency conversion tool - Determine international prices converted to your local currency.

Binary Calc - Cause I'm too lazy to figure it out myself these days.

Subnet Calc - An actual free one that works.

Oh, Ranger! Park Finder - Handy little activities app that lets you find something to do pretty much anywhere you are.

Topo Maps - Free map downloads, keep em in your cloud until you need them for your trip and then pull the ones you need.

RouteBuddy Atlas - Uses both online and offline maps, some free, some not.

Garmin North America - Covers all of North America and not just the United States. Looks and feels like your Garmin brand dash mounted GPS unit.

Spyglass - Amazing tool with heaps of functionality, will require a bit of reading to learn some of the advanced features but worth it. Great little dashboard app for wheeling.

Tactical Nav - If you learned your land nav skills in the service then this will make life pretty easy for you. Soldier built and maintained app.

ok so about a month ago I got caught in a terrible thunderstorm with my iphone in my pocket miles from the truck. I pulled my Iphone 4 out to check my position and the phone was off. so got back to the hotel, took it apart and let it dry out, it worked until this last friday. phone was completely blank and hasnt even blinked since then.

so where should I go from here? is there any hope? anyway to test different parts to see what has gone bad?

    I forgot this thread existed!!

Here's a question for ya's.... I use 'Car Minder' (I think that's what its called) to keep track of my maintenance & repairs/upgrades, etc.

Is there a similar App for HOME maintenance?? To keep track of 'dates' of when you purchased your new appliances, exterminator visits, lawn fertilizing, driveway coating, softener salt fill-up, and all that stuff that you do to your home on a regular basis but you never keep track of it...??

I see HomeSmarts gets good reviews & is free. I like free....:D

some will say ottor box. but i hate how it makes it so big. get a live proof they kinda pricy but well worth it IMHO!! and unlike ottor box it’s tested in water to 6.6 feet and like 10 foot drops. and is not much bigger than the phone. does not come with a belt clip but you can get it separate. does include a screw in adapter for headphones. and 2 screw in plugs were headphones go. one is an extra.

also idk i may have posted this. but i know iphone, ipad, itouch have face time. but i find a app that is the same think pretty much. it’s called FRING, and say you have family or GF what ever you want to video chat on the phone with that has android if they have it you can. so it works with android and iphone. i had a friend tell me it was/is better than skype on cell. idk how skype is on the phone.

also i know we all have iphone but also know that we all know someone with android. and face time is cool.

Doubt it..... My mother-in-law dropped her phone (standard phone) in the toilet. We dried it out and it actually worked for a long time, but was 'funky' to say the least. It would 'cut out' in the middle of a phone conversation and eventually got so bad, that she stopped using it.

These smartphones are complex units and the cost to repair one - since you don't know WHAT to repair....is probably worse than just buying another one.

I thought the same thing about the Otterbox.... until I saw the 'Commuter'. It's not big at all....I really like it.

If you need to water proof your phone - get a cell phone DRY BOX. They're $5 at Walmart. Whenever I'm out hiking or whatever...my phone goes in my drybox and has a lanyard that's around my neck.

yeah i have one of those boxes. but it does not add full protection all the time no-matter where you are. (unless you put you’r phone in it any time you are out of the truck) also that box would not fit in my jacket for snowboarding, and sometimes i plug headphones in for music. i need to use my phone sometimes. with the lifeproof if i drop it in the snow or whatever using it it wont hurt it.

I have a Griffin case that I wear on my duty belt. It has held up pretty well, and covers the speakers, that the otterbox does not. I like it better than the otterbox, and they will send you a new clip if you break yours!

for the Griffin video, youtube Griffin survivor case.
