Hi, I'm James, the owner and the guy pictured in the Tacoma (not my truck, the owner, as you can see from his license plate is U.S. Marine, formerly a machine gunner, hence the M240 Golf, I'm just a former Army infantryman). I'm happy to answer any questions about JammockTruck.

Thanks! As with any hammock or bendable bed, gravity takes over--however--you can get these things cinched pretty tightly and avoid lots of the bend.

In any event, I recommend Jammocking with someone you'd like to get to know better--lots better.

A strap down the center, fore and aft, could help with that.

A quick simple sleep solution I would say.

Yessir. I tried that in one of my many prototypes. You'd think this would be an easy thing to engineer. Unless it can hook up to the fore and aft of the bed, it's just hanging out. And if you go port and starboard you run into a problem of headroom.

Cool until I saw the price-tag. $199, ouch. Can buy a suped up legit camping hammock for that price rather than a reinforced square cloth with corner tie downs.

Why couldn't someone weld 2 small rings on the bottom of a bed rack, say front right, the other bottom left, cross the bed, instant hammock.

Why did all the inventor's posts get deleted in this thread?

I found it odd this morning when the OP said they just happened to "come across this" and then miraculously the inventor of it, who had never posted here before showed up and started his sales pitch.

he did? wonder how he knew I posted it. That is weird.

I would never pay $200 for it but I thought it looked cool on a jeep. I think it cost less for the jeep... maybe less material or something. I am sure this can be recreated with a $60 ENO hammock and some customizing.

I spoke with @Jammock and he's legit. I've even undeleted his responses in here.

    Carry on...

    tcBob: Thanks very much.

Tacoma World writ-large: I live in India and my proxy was giving the mods grief. I'm not the OP, I found this page because I have a Google Alert set up to let me know anytime anyone mentions Jammock, so sadly, I am not csmith15SR5, nor are we in cahoots.

As a fairly new, fairly small business, I have to jump on opportunities, and Google Alerts are free, fast, and easy. Thanks for understanding.

It is expensive. It also costs a ton to make because it's made in the USA and I only use top notch materials. I set the working load limit at 350 lbs, but I've tested it at many more times than that. In short, it's a rugged beast that will last.

That said, as I previously stated, I am open to group discounts and Tacoma World specific discounts. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to try one out. Jammock has a 30-day return guarantee, if you don't like it and it's still in new condition, send it back and I'll refund the cost of the Jammock less shipping ($5.99).

You absolutely could. To make the same thing will cost about $220 in parts, machinery, and labor and it will take a few days to get all the parts, then several hours to assemble, unless you're a master tailor.

You could buy a regular hammock, nylon or otherwise, weld two rings fore and aft, and string it up there. But then your butt would hit the bottom of the truck bed and if you dropped anything on the hammock it would puncture.

What I have is a 1000D Cordura nylon beast that is specifically designed to fit truckbeds with anchor mounts. Up to you!

Absolutely not. The Jammock should not be used at any MPH but ZERO MPH. Always set your parking brake and put the truck into park if automatic transmission before using your JammockTruck.
