I'm sure that is peak power and not rms. Peak power is only reached with a direct lightning strike.

Yes they are. You CAN modify the amp internally, but you have to have good electrical skills, soldering skills, and understand what the purpose in modifying it would be. I did it with my factory amp for a while until my Kicker tweeters blew then I got tired of messing with it and just went aftermarket everything.

The only thing that sucks is the 3rd gen js different then the second gen. Everything is so integrated that you stand to lose a lot of functionality in the truck like the nav integration with the screen in the center of the guage pod. I can see why Jason is fighting so hard to keep it intact.

But where does the bass drop off occur? HU or amp? Perhaps you could ask Mr marv that too

I didn't realize there was nav integration in the speedo cluster. I could see why he wants to keep it in then.

Personally speaking I am glad I nabbed up a 2nd gen instead of third, all this CAN integration into the dash is not cool at all.

The amp. The amp is actually what kills any good sound that the headunit is capable of but it is necessary for retention in the entire system because the headunit and the steering wheel volume control relies on it to adjust the volume up or down. You ditch the amp, sure you can do that.. just don't expect to be able to adjust the volume unless you have a remote gain knob. Even then, that is a horrible way of increasing and decreasing volume and a good way to prematurely blow the system.

My conclusion is to ditch the whole thing front to back amps wires HU sub/ speakers , sucks but I really wanted that 2nd Gen DCLB and at the end of the model cycle in 2015 I didn't really have a choice

The wiring is fine. There is no reason to ditch wiring, I DO however agree. EVERYTHING must go if you want the system to function properly as an aftermarket headunit. The difference between my aftermarket from the entune unit is seriously night and day. Everything just hits so much harder and crisper.

I switch out from a DVC sub to an SVC. No need to overcomplicate the system more than it was. I cut most of the factory plugs also, especially for the amp. Screw all that. I want a direct connection.

    No :(
I just need to know what the rear speaker wires are because there's no wires matching the colors from the door. And what wire I can use as a remote wire

That sucks. Think we can stage a boycott of car manufacturers till they make a non-complicated system that interfaces with aftermarket components? What the hell.

That's not going to happen. I think they will continue to get more and more integrated. I'm gonna have a helluva time putting a sub in my wife's new Mazda 6 GT. The bose system in that is going to be fun to deal with.

I replied to your pm. If you look at the diagram I gave you, you will notice that the wires leaving the amp for the RR are actually different colors when they reach the RR speaker. Also, if you look at page 3 where the navigation receiver is, there is no RR speaker out. Looks like Toyota is doing something funny with the RR speaker.

Also, for the remote wire, use pin 12 on the bottom 24 pin white plug. This is acc that turns the jbl amp on.
