I would be interested in the diagram if you don't mind to share it. My revamp is coming up once I get the goods from Mr Marv.

Sound is 100% better. So much sound. I still need to tune it up with the LC6 and amp. But for all the nay-sayers that said it wouldn't work, IT WORKS!

If I had to do it differently, I'd probably order up more speaker cable instead of guesstimating that I would have enough. I came up a little short on 2 wires and they weren't even the longest run. I'd also probably get different colored speaker wire to tell the speakers apart cuz now that everything is together, they all look the same.

I'd probably have put more RAAMmat down on the floorboard also, I ended up with 2.5 sheets extra that I could've used.

All together the project took me 3 days to complete from interior removal to wiring to reinstall. I could've done the speakers at the same time but I decided early on that I wanted to install them without waiting for everything else. That may have saved me some speaker wire in the end.

It can easily be done in 2 days if you have help. I did this 100% solo with the exception of advice from @Mr Marv @1sttruckguy78 and @kenrickv who really helped me out, calmed my nerves and uncomplicated the easiest things.

    I have a couple questions...

    1) which speaker wires from the JBL amp did you end up routing to the LC6?

    2) do all the radio functions still work and in particular the fade and low/mid/high controls?

    3) do you have the high frequencies coming from your two way in the rear door? I wasn't sure I could tell from the video.

    4) what wires did you run up through the center console area if any?

Can't wait to start my install.

#1 - see attached pic. From L to R, tweeters, front doors, rear doors.

2 - my fade 'works' but the front doors do not fade out when it is all the way to rear. Might be an LC6i issue or perhaps it just doesn't work that way. I'll have to do some more tinkering with the internals because 2 of the jumpers are set to 'summed' instead of 'separate.' I might just need to jump 1 instead of both. Doesn't bother me much because I listen to it with 0 fade.

The treble/mid/bass does work on the stock HU.

3 - I am pretty sure the tweeters only play the highs, I can't tell for sure. Plus having high frequency hearing loss doesn't help hah.

4 - from the driver side kick panel area I ran the 4g power and FL speaker wire together. It goes along the door sill mid way then across towards the center where the AC vent is, then goes into the rear storage cavity across to the passenger rear corner. (See pic)

Just curious what are you using for the sub signal, from the factory amp to the sub amp

He used the wires that feed the sub strait from the stock amp to rca adapters. He had to do it that way because he had to sum channel 1 and 2 together to get the full range signal from the front door speakers and tweeters.

    Excellent.

That fade issue is a head scratcher. I've been wondering how much fade I actually use and whether I can live without it.

The rear without the high frequencies bothers me. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that one yet. Got some ideas... Splitting the front signal after the LOC or getting a more advanced DSP. I think in either case I lose some functionality such as the fader.

The kicker zxsum8 or LC8i will do what you want to do. Take tweeter and front outputs. Sum them together. Then let your component crossover do the crossover. And just use the loc function for the rear and sub. Fade should work. Rear and sub speaker should get what the jbl amp sends them.

The lc8i will be a bit cheaper. I have the zxsum8 and it seems to work very well.

Did you get a chance to test the rear door speaker to see if it was a full range signal or band pass? Seems from what you experienced before the rear signal had at least a low pass.

Well done, sir. I am just now starting this same project in my 2ndGen will the near exact components. Where did you end up mounting your jbl amp?

I think he meant where you mounted the stock amplifier when you moved it out of the way. I was curious about that too.

Gotcha, sorry didn't think about that. The stock amp is mounted on the backside of the LOC so the wiring wasn't a pain. It's hidden.
