I've looked on that site They want you to buy in lots of 10s' on up. They don't give you the inside/outside diameter to make sure if it'll fit.

In the last 6 months I've done the hewitt air injection bypass kit, upgraded the steering wheel to an OEM leather wheel, truck tool box, Doug Thorley header (fixing an an exhaust flange leak), along with muffler and resonator exhaust tip (labor welding it in place),Volant Vortice Throttle Body Spacer, intermate wiper control switch, and cruise control. Now working on a tailgate lock and the rusting around the rear window of the cab. In addition I'm looking at tailgate locks right now. I'll be damned, if I'm going to spend another $100 for a lighted ring and try to figure out how to hook it up. My luck the truck will be totaled tomorrow either by a kid texting or an old person that shouldn't be driving. Oh yes, I did purchased the $2.50 (shipping included) ring from Alibaba. My hats off to you all who do persevere in doing these little mod projects, if I do find one in the junkyard or Alibaba for $5 $10 I just might do it!

Hello. I could use a couple of terminals if you can spare them.

That's fine, you can enjoy your glow in the dark option. I'm sure a ignition ring assembly will pop up on eBay one of these days. I've found them on there for other Toyota vehicles. Sellers usually sell the entire ignition cylinder + ring.

im not sure what to do here...
when i use my remote start then enter, the dome light doesnt stay on; it goes out when i shut the door, probly cuz the motor is running..
i could wire the key light to go out when the remote start shuts off, but then would have to use remote start everytime.
maybe wire to the remote start And the dome lights..
maybe i should wire the key light to a timer..id rather not do that tho.. i cant think of any other ways, really

Let me ask an initial question because I've never used a remote start system.

When you use the remote start do you actually have to use a key in the ignition once you get in to keep the engine running, or can you just get in and go for a drive without using the key? Like do you actually ever have to use a key given you have a bypass module (with a spare chipped key in it I assume)???

To be honest I'm sure you could just wire it up as per my first post DIY, and not have an issue.

Cause here's some options you have based on what you actually want the LED ring to do:
    1. Ring illuminated when the dome light is on/door open ONLY
    2. Ring illuminated BOTH when dome light is on/door open AND with dash lights
    3. Ring illuminated ONLY when dash lights on
    4. Ring illuminated ANYTIME truck is ON.

Options 1 and 2 are outlined in my first post, and options 3 and 4 would just be tweaking option 1 based on the DIY instruction.

I updated the OP with a walkthrough document put together by @Up2NoGood . Really nice document with a lot of pics and step by step as well. Anyone should be able to do this mod with both mine and his walkthrough!

Bumping this back to the top because I forgot to add some good news. So the Tundra ring from the dealer is like ~$114 or so, HOWEVER, I found a good source for rings at $50.

Search part number 89783-06021 (Tundra ignition ring) on any Toyota parts site and you can find other Toyota models that share the same part. These other models include: Camry, Sequoia, Highlander, just be sure to note the MODEL YEAR.

    Part Site: tlsautorecycling.com

Now go to tls autorecycling and search for the year and make/model and put the part criteria as "ignition switch" and find one that has the clear ring.

Some are like $70 but I've found Tundra and Camry parts for $50. So half price mod. You get the full ignition assembly not just the ring by itself. Could always try and sell the actual ignition setup to recoup some $$$.

Ive bought from TLS thru eBay and they were reliable.

Nice find! I can also vouch for TLS, have bought from them a few times through eBay as well.

My wife got a new Rav this year and I noticed right away that it has the illuminated key ring. Her cruise control stalk also lights at night when the headlights are on.
