NH is good as always, thank you. Tomorrow is finishing the living room floor at my folks house during the day, shoveling the drive and roof at night.

The low Saturday is supposed to be -21*. I’d still rather be here..

@HCJ I see you're online. I think I figured out how we can paint our bumpers! Basically have it hanging from a 8' 4x4, two ladders inside and two in the driveway to hold it, and we both carry it out to the driveway for a coat of paint, then back inside for the coat to dry. Then just do that for every coat. A bit of a hassle but I think it'd be the most effective over making our own paint booth.

I'm down to try that! Sounds like an all day event, but it should work as long as the temp is reasonable

Yeah it'll definitely take a few hours. It's just such a bummer that it's so damn cold, which will make it hard to get a decent paint job on there. I may swing by Maaco for shits and giggles to see what they'd charge. If less than $100 I'd probably just go that route to save all of this headache.

Tonight (this morning?) I spent a good bit of my shift finalizing my research on everything I'll need to go my front diff refresh, and how to do it. I plan on rebuilding both CV's with the Toyota rebuild kit, replace seals on both sides, and install the ECGS bushing on the drivers side. What sparked all this was I noticed my diff weeping on the drivers side CV, as well as nasty cracked boots that probably wouldn't last another couple months on their own. I'm trying to be proactive and replace them before they tear so I can reuse the axles themselves.

As soon as I place my order through Gunny for the Toyota parts, I'll place my order for the ECGS bushing and start getting all the tools together. This job will require some specialty tools to make things easier, and the plan is to rent and borrow as much as I can, and purchase the rest.

While I'm at it, I'm going to have my skids off to better access the drain and fill plugs for the diff. As of now the plan is to wire wheel and give them a coat of touch up, but we'll see how adventurous I'm feeling. The perk of this not being my DD is I can tackle it on a weekend (plan is to start on the 14th) but I can finish it up over the next day or two depending how the weather is.

ahaha it's so damn early! I feel for you. On an unrelated note, while I was at work we're getting snowed on. Should be 2"-3" of snow making my morning commute home hell.

I took the subie, learned about the snow, and ran home and swapped vehicles on my "lunch break" and also salted the driveway. I don't foresee them doing a good job of plowing where I work, and want all the ground clearance I can get. Plus if I'm feeling nice I can winch out people who slide off the road!

Rescue Randy! It is alway nice to know you are capable of lending a hand in a sticky situation. Now snow for us here but we do have a freeze warning and icy road advisory. Crazy weather.

Back when I had my Jeep with a winch I ended up helping out in an accident scene were a lady had gone into an irrigation ditch. The accident had just happened and at the time I was still working as a Paramedic so I was always up for action/adrenaline. I anchored Rusty, my Jeeps name was Rusty lol, to a truck with a tow strap while the winch line was secured to the minivan. As soon as they yelled from down in the ditch it was secured we got to winching. Lady was beat up but alive and my Rusty made the local news. Fun times

Dang, that's bad ass! I don't think I'll encounter anything quite so serious. More than likely most people will be going so damn slow that it'll take me 1.5 hours to get home and I'll be cursing the snow.
