Im going to rebuild my OEM driveshaft this month. Probably going to get a thicker walled tube put in. Then ill order the u-joints and a new center support bearing (carrier bearing as we like to call it), and put it back in. I will rebuild the current driveshaft, and sell that one. Id like to get a 1-piece

Why not keep it as a trail spare? #EAF

I am iffy about the one thats on there now. Even though everything seems to be in order, and nothing has come loose, id rather have the oem one as the spare. Hoping to get all this done before the Colorado trip (either this years trip or next year)

I'd probably do the same with a spare. The point of a spare is if you fuck up your original, and can swap in the spare as a temporary fix until you fix the good one, then the spare goes back to being a spare.

@fatfurious2 also you were right. It's the same knuckle for both 2wd and 4wd.

I've been to Colorado, just not in my truck, or for wheeling/camping.

I do want to be more prepared and not rushed.

Keeping the OEM. When i get to that point, ill sell the OE rebuilt, and keep the oem

So @EatSleepTacos youre going to do a complete rear axle swap for a locker? If so then I’m excited AF to see the results because I want a rear locker.

If I happen to come across an axle our of an off road that's in good condition and less than $500, I will seriously consider it. It wouldn't be a hard swap at all, especially with that standalone wiring harness. Then I'd be happy as a clam and could put off re-gearing and an ARB locker for as long as I want. I just really want a rear locker for the stuff I've been doing. It would have seriously benefit me last trip out.

    Norris is lit AF!!!

Installed it this afternoon, but had to hurry and get cleaned up because my wife wanted to go to the home show and we only had a babysitter lined up for a narrow window.

I will try to snap a pic when I get back.

Yeah I’d rather have an e-locker as well. Nothing like just clicking a switch and being locked instead of waiting on an air compressor...plus it would be cheaper like you said.
